Our B&B is in an exotic mansion in the heart of Santa Teresa, Rio's historic and cultural district. Guests have to share the tropical gardens with the 2 turtles, butterflies and small monkeys! We are close to all the city's main attractions and the district of Lapa with Rio's best music and nightlife.

Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.

This is a great place to stay if you want some peace and tranquility after spending your days seeing Rio’s main sites. The house is beautiful and the garden with the pool is serene and stunning. There is a taxi rank close by so you can get to Rio’s attractions easily, via the Metro or the taxi. The area is really interesting and we ate in two fantastic restaurants close by. The family and their staff are lovely and make you feel very welcome. The loft room was great for us. Breakfasts are very hearty. If we go back to Rio there is no other place I would stay. Thank you!

Located in a quiet neighborhood, this was for us the perfect place to stay to discover Rio. The hosts are very committed and helped us with all the smaller and larger issues that come up when in a foreign city. Also a great place to just hang out during the day.

Highly recommend for travelers looking for a respite from the downtown areas in a funky lively neighborhood. The hosts are nice, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are spotless, breakfast delicious and grounds/buildings unique. I would however classify this as a high end B&B listing. Although the guest units we stayed in are stand alone, they are next to the family’s home and within the same grounds. Therefore, not a good place to stay if you are a noisy crowd, want to have guests or other fellow travelers or aren’t interested in interacting with the host & family.

We stayed at Casa Beleza for six nights in the Loft room (as the Villa and Bungalow were already booked). Right off the bat: they're not kidding about the narrow stairs to get up to the Loft (there's a disclaimer on the website), gorgeous as they are - it would be tough indeed to get a big suitcase up there, so pack accordingly. We had a carry-on suitcase, plus two packs and we were fine. The room was big, clean and very nice. The air conditioner worked great (although my partner complained that it was on the loud side). The grounds are BEAUTIFUL - so lovingly tended to and the breakfast each morning on the patio is such a nice way to start the day. Santa Teresa is a perfect base for exploring Rio, safer than some of the other neighbourhoods and with so much to see just within its confines. Aside from the airport pick-up Casa Beleza arranged for us (140 Reals = about $45 CAD), we Uber'd everywhere safely and cost-effectively. The family that runs Casa Beleza was wonderful - Bindu in particular is so warm and welcoming and such an amazing resource for all Rio-related activities. There's simply no better place to stay when you're in town.

We stayed in the upper bungalow which is on a property of an older mansion. The neighborhood is very beautiful. Breakfast every morning was fantastic- with plenty of fresh fruit and fresh juice. Bindu is an super nice host and has a great deal of insights about local events in Santa Teresa and tips for things to do. She also responds quickly and always ready to help. Definitely recommend!
