Casa Beleza is an hidden gem located in the beautiful neighborhood of Santa Teresa. Charming rooms, a beautiful garden where the rich breakfast is served and the extreme kindness of Bindu and Antoine, the owners, will make you feel better than home! The owners are always ready to have a nice chat and to give you precious suggestions that will enrich your stay in Rio. Casa Beleza really deserve a 10!!!
Stayed at the Orange Room. So good to stay with folks who know Rio well -and Bindu and Antoine are very good hosts! Santa Teresa is one of Rio's most interesting neighbourhoods. And the house feels very peaceful and quiet -which can be a welcome retreat from the busy parts of city!
Absolutely fantastic Bed and Breakfast in Santa Teresa, Rio de Janeiro. A little slice of paradise. The property is situated at the top of a quiet road in the hills of Santa Teresa, looking down towards the main port and bay, in an ideal location away from the hustle and bustle of downtown/tourist Rio. The area is quirky, laid back, bohemian, and loves to party! Some really cool bars and restaurants within a 5-10 minute walk. Taxis can be a bit tricky at night due to the location away from the main hotspots, but if you take a relaxed attitude and aren't rushing around you'll be fine. The owners, Antoine and Bindu, were perfect hosts. Super helpful and accommodating without being intrusive, full of great recommendations, interesting conversation over the delicious breakfast of fresh fruit, cheeses and omelettes in the lush garden. We had "The Villa", which is set back from the main property in the tropical garden, and loved it. Extremely spacious, classy and minimalist which helps you enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings. If you want a TV, Netflix, room service like a 4/5 star hotel, this won't be for you, but if you prefer authenticity, gorgeous natural surroundings, and a personal touch in a tranquil part of Rio, look no further. And that's not to even mention the cute pet tortoises, Daphne and Ivan :) Can't wait to go back! Stayed in May 2022.…
Casa Beleza lives up to its name "House of Beauty" in every way. Our recently built guest suite is a separate building on the grounds surrounded by groomed mature gardens and tropical jungle. Our suite was spacious with lots of sitting room, 3 separate private balconies. The a/c worked perfectly and is positioned so that it doesn't blow directly onto the bed, although we usually opened our sliding doors instead to enjoy the evening breezes and bird song. Lots of great bedding & towels. Beautiful breakfast served each morning in the nicest of settings. And, if you wish to use it, there is a lovely secluded pool. The owner is a wonderful source of knowledge in English about where to visit, eat, and obtain any professional services needed. She speaks several other languages as well. She also arranged for us to be picked up at the airport by Fernando which was much appreciated. Casa Beleza is located in the lovely Santa Teresa area of Rio so you get the best of both worlds: a taste of real Rio plus all the tourist areas easily reached by Taxi or Uber. An interesting short walk takes you to 2 fabulous restaurants: the Aprazivel and the Tereza with many other bars and cafes nearby. It is a very rare experience when travelling for us to want to return early every afternoon to our accommodation, but we did here just for the pleasure of sitting on one of our terraces enjoying our before dinner drinks in the tropical forest, watching the tiny monkeys swing past on vines, listening to the colourful birds, and watching the pet turtles creep along the garden paths. We'd stayed 4 nights in the King suite ocean view at the Fairmont Copacabana when we first arrived in Rio but we preferred our 4 nights at Casa Beleza at the end of our trip before heading home. What a wonderful place to stay! Disliked · Nothing. If I'd written up in advance my idea of the perfect place to stay to experience Rio, I would have missed some things that Casa Beleza takes for granted!…
We loved Casa Beleza... the local area was overflowing with interest. We stayed in the spacious, unique and comfortable loft room with the most perfect view through a Gothic shaped window out over Rio. The house was a serene and restful gem - immaculate... delicious breakfast, quiet and beautiful gardens and pool as well as welcoming hosts who could not do enough to enhance our stay. Great nearby cafes, bars and restaurants... shops. Too good to be true? Ahhhh... but it is! I want to go back.
Casa Beleza was the perfect base for our one-week trip to Rio, in the interesting area of Santa Teresa, ideal for quiet relaxation after a busy day exploring the more vibrant parts of Rio. All of the staff were friendly, helpful and efficient and Bindu especially was full of helpful advice. We stayed in the Villa which was well worth the walk up through the garden and also in the Loft with access up a narrow spiral staircase which was easily managed by a fit grandmother! Breakfasts were delicious and the two resident tortoises kept us amused as they wandered around finishing off scraps of fruit we left for them.
Casa Beleza is a handsome old villa in Santa Teresa with two separate cottages at the top of the garden, beautifully restored by Antoine and Bindu. It’s a family home as well as a guest house and is full of character and comfort. Around and above the main house is a lush garden, lots of birds, views of the city below, and plenty of places to sit and enjoy them, including around the swimming pool. We stayed in the bungalow at the top of the garden. It has a private terrace with hammocks and is wonderfully secluded and quiet – just the sound of birds and frogs outside. Worth the steep ascent! Excellent breakfasts: home-made jams, warm pão do queijo, and a lot more! And very useful advice on where to go and what to do. Casa Beleza is a pleasant ten minutes walk (downhill) to the shops and bars and restaurants of the main street of Santa Teresa.…
This is a great place to stay if you want some peace and tranquility after spending your days seeing Rio’s main sites. The house is beautiful and the garden with the pool is serene and stunning. There is a taxi rank close by so you can get to Rio’s attractions easily, via the Metro or the taxi. The area is really interesting and we ate in two fantastic restaurants close by. The family and their staff are lovely and make you feel very welcome. The loft room was great for us. Breakfasts are very hearty. If we go back to Rio there is no other place I would stay. Thank you!
Located in a quiet neighborhood, this was for us the perfect place to stay to discover Rio. The hosts are very committed and helped us with all the smaller and larger issues that come up when in a foreign city. Also a great place to just hang out during the day.
Highly recommend for travelers looking for a respite from the downtown areas in a funky lively neighborhood. The hosts are nice, helpful and accommodating. The rooms are spotless, breakfast delicious and grounds/buildings unique. I would however classify this as a high end B&B listing. Although the guest units we stayed in are stand alone, they are next to the family’s home and within the same grounds. Therefore, not a good place to stay if you are a noisy crowd, want to have guests or other fellow travelers or aren’t interested in interacting with the host & family.
