We stayed for three nights and ate in the “Opera” restaurant in the hotel. The room was quite large, with an enormous comfortable bed. Very clean and tidy hotel. On the roof terrace there is a bar for drinks and snacks and a small swimming pool. From the terrace you can see the Sugar Loaf Mountain and also Christ the Redeemer statue. The food in the restaurant was of a very good standard delivered by friendly staff, who helped us through our pathetic portuguese. Each night during the week they have a chef’s special. On Wednesday they had roast duck, which was superb. The breakfast has nearly everything you need, both hot and cold. It is situated in the centre of Rio, at Cinelandia, which is perfect for the metro, buses and trams. Highly recommended!
We loved our stay in this hotel, very comfortable and clean, close to everything we needed, only 5 minutes away from the US consulate on foot, literally just around the corner. Great restaurants nearby, our favorite was the Super Bar, they had bobo de camarão, the best dish in town in our opinion. Great breakfast selection, highly recommended since it was hard to find a good breakfast spot down in Rio. Excellent hotel overall, 5 stars!
The hotel is nice, spacious and comfortable. The buffet breakfast includes breads, charcuterie, fruit and some hot items. But best of all is its location! One block from the Nat’l Fine Arts Museum and the Municipal Theatre! And two blocks from Lapa— lively parties and dancing! This is a hidden gem!
The hotel is located in the center, close to the municipal theater and 2 min walk from the Cineladia metro station. The hotel is basic yet comfortable. The AC works well and the staff are friendly. The decor is a bit outdated and the area is deserted in the evening. However, it is within a short walking distance from Lapa which is a very lively neighborhood in the evening. It is always recommended to take the taxi in the evening because it feels unsafe and it is the general rule in Rio. The breakfast is very good and has a rich variety from cold meats and eggs to cereals and local pastries and fruits. Overall, it is a good value for money and centrally located to easily access all the tourists spots.
Amidst the Rock in Rio, I was hosted there for business duties. The staff could manage the crowd and I did not feel affected by the chaos in the city at that time. The breakfast was delicious and variate.
