We went with the family with the idea of always surfing in new water and meeting good people, we arrived without knowing what was going to happen, and we ended up surprising, we met and made a lot of friends, we thought about staying for a few days but they ended up becoming weeks, there were always a new plan for each day, I really liked the energy of rio de janeiro, the people are very kind and patient, and fun at the same time. We left in Rio de Janeiro a table of ours, because we promised to return then there is waiting for us !!

I had no expectations when I arrived. Unstead of staying what I planned (2 nights) I ended up staying 9!. Met amazing people, learned how to surf! and now, Im coming back again! Everyone who works there, from reception, to cooking, cleaning, and surfing techers, share a beautiful relationship based on respect and friendship. The beutiful patio is always a happy place, with so many spots to hang out; easy on the hammoc, on the yoga area, or even to work on the bar area. There are a LOT of surfing boards of all kinds and sizes. The surfing spots are perfect to practice the technique and imporve your skills. The beach is only 2 blocks away. Its a quiet neigborhood but you will find noise and bars after walking 6/8 blocks. Bedrooms and bathrooms are clean, kitchen is clean. All good.

Once you get to this place, it is really hard to leave. That why it is better to go to Rio first come here. I went there alone, 2 hours later I had made friends. you have to considare the fact that it is a hostel and not a luxury hotel. This place is far from Rio, you wont be able to go out at night in Rio if you are staying here. you have to do your stuff in Rio when you stay there and when you come to Recreio to Stay n Surf you go out here and usually you will be having fun with people from the hostel and you will party with them. There is a little shopping center closeby. you can go to the local market by bike to buy food or other stuff. the beaches are amazing here. you go hiking to few places nearby. I recommand the Telegrafo hike. Surfing Isnt the best here compared to the pacific side. There is a really nice vibe here about the owner, the people that work and stay here that makes you feel good and dont wanna leave

Great place where you can find surf, yoga, nice breakfast, hiking, skate, bbq but above all, you'll cross the path of amazing people volunteering there. Much love to Vivi, Trini, Tiago and all the others :)

This isn't the fanciest place you'll ever stay, but it has a great vibe. We ended our Brazil trip with a couple days of surf and sun here, and it was exactly what we needed. It's a bit outside of the actual city part of Rio, but that's what we were looking for. Mostly out of the hustle and bustle and a block away from the beach. It was a relaxed place with a social vibe. There were activities planned almost every night and at any given time there were other travelers hanging out in the outside common area. The staff was very welcoming and invited us to different events that were going on around town. The surf lessons were pretty personalized. I've been surfing only a few times before, but I felt like I improved under these instructors. Super happy we spent time here, would definitely come back in the future!
