Our host welcomed us at 7 o clock in the morning with breakfast and a beautiful room with nice beds to rest...

Highly recommend staying at this guest house, as we were made to feel extremely welcomed and at home. We initially booked three nights, and stayed for 2 weeks, it was that good a place! The location was fantastic, away from the tourist ghettos of Copacabana and Ipanema. There are lots of little local bars, and shops so you have a really community feel, and the house is not on a busy road so after a day of sight...

Elena the proprietor was an absolute darling. Superb hospitality and attention to detail. Rare to come across this level of service anywhere. From arranging transport to providing ideas on things to do it was such a pleasure.

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
