I was extremely happy with Mar Palace Copacabana. The location is outstanding; 100 yards from the Metro and 100 yards from the beach. A number of excellent restaurants are within short walking distance. The staff were very courteous and helpful. My room was large and clean and very comfortable. The wireless Internet was reliable and fast (and I didn't even...

It was a pleasant 5 night stay at this hotel for our family party of 3. On arrival we were delighted to find we had been upgraded to a 12th level front room with two large beds and a pleasant view across to the park and trees with a glimpse of beach & ocean between buildings. Staff were English speaking...

The hotel room is spacious clean and simple. The one I stayed was - at least aparently - recently renewed. The quality of the service was only average as it was also the quality of the food. Nonetheless the location of the hotel, near to downtown and only few blocks away from the beach - what is good for running...

The location is 2 blocks from the Copacabana Beach but it was the bare minimum that you would want. The bathroom had Kleenex or glass for brushing your teeth. The spread on the bed was very thin and so were the pillows. The floors were wood panel and the minibar was sparsely stocked. The restaurant is buffet style.

I was disappointed with the Mar Palace. Pretty fade in parts, large rooms just felt a little tired. The roof pool is not a pool as such given its only about 10ft (3m) square. Breakfast was fine but the place felt a bit like a transit camp of short-stay guests; but then I was one too. Helpful reception staff, and...

We stayed in this hotel in the middle of january and had an enjoyable experience. Room very clean and close to copacabana beach. Plenty of choice for breakfast. The only downside was the traffic noise. We were on the 9th floor but could still hear the traffic noise very early in the morning. Although some reviews say that the staff...

I had good time in this hotel and overall impression was very good. It is located just one block from Copacabana beach and is in the street which is busy whole day (though my room was on the other side and I did not hear noise in the room on the 4th floor). The room was spacios, with 3 beds...

Avenida de Nossa Senora de Copacabana offer a big variety of shops and restaurant. As the Hotel is not Sea Front, price is also less expensive than other Hotel that...

Althought the hotel is in a great location, the staff are unfriendly and unhelpful. When asking about trips etc they just direct you to the internet which you have to pay for!! Even in the mornings at breakfast the head waiter did not acknowledge you and the waiters never even smiled. One receptionist was having a conversation with me, then...

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
