The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.

Stayed 6 nights in a private double room during Carnival week in late February. The room was super small. The lamp in the bathroom turned on automatically but we could not turn it off when we did not want to close the door and it was so annoying. It's not near the main street and also far from the beach. Only one or two staff members are able to be communicated with English. Yet the breakfast, not ready before 8:15 a.m., was quite good. The kitchen was extremely small and always in a mess. Very limited utensils. When we got back on the second day, the room was not made. I asked why. They said it's because we did not leave the room key. The the following day we left the room key at the reception when we went out but the room was still not made up when we got back. ?????

We stayed here for 6 nights during the Rio Olympics so prices were WAY higher than it should of been but still the cheapest we could find in Rio at that time. When we arrived they had lost our booking even though we had paid deposit? Anyway they moved things around and found us two beds in a 12 bed room. They have the three tier bunk beds. The staff were all really nice and friendly and most spoke good english. The breakfast was good with bonus of having cereal and granola in addition to the breads, cheese cakes, fruit etc. Bathroom and shower were okay, bit strange cos no locks on the doors but we found it fine. Location was very good, supermarkets only a few minutes walk away as well as a metro station and bus stops. 10 minutes to copacobana beach too. Felt very safe in this area. Didn't have much of a backpacker feel, most of the guests seemed to be middle aged Brazilian men travelling by themselves which we found a bit strange.

Great staff.. Very helpful!! :) the owners are young and ready to help you organising trips, tours and so on. The breakfast was nice and the position is good.... Near copacabana beach and not too far from Arpoador beach and Ipanema beach. We felt like at home!!

Very comfortable, cosy hostel and helpful staff. I loved the hospitality! Nice people work there, they helped me a lot, so patiently, giving me good tips about the city and the region. The hostel was calm and quiet, there was no trouble at all. I hope come back to stay there again!!!!

I stayed for a weekend in a suite, which is smaller than how it looks on the Web, watch out! There is no hot water, just cold. Staff very nice and helpful although without much information to guide you if you're a bit lost. Altogether just a bit expensive for what it is considering you could get a hotel for not much more...
