Probably the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve been to Benidorm. Avoid this hotel at all costs the only pro is the location which is still a bit suspect. The air con unit sounds like a jumbo jet is about to take off and is blowing out as much cold air as a car exhaust. I’m pretty sure the air con systems also haven’t been cleaned in a very long time as I’ started feeling ill on the first day. This lack of cleanliness is followed through with consistency across the room with a dirty floor and pieces of the floor and decor missing across a very dated room. They seriously need to invest money into this hotel. I never write reviews but felt compelled to right this to warn other guests not to make the same mistake I have.

The needed skills to deal with people are on! They're educated, do the best to attend our needs. Pessoas educadas, gentis, prestativas. O café da manhã é simples mas gostoso! Amei pressão da agua do chuveiro, ajuda a relaxar.

I'll try to keep this brief. Our stay at Augusto's Copacabana Hotel was less than satisfactory. The place may have once been a boutique 80s getaway, but it's not aged well, and once you get past the semi-glamourous entrance and lobby, you're met with pretty low standards. Here are the pros and cons: Pros - Good shower, albeit it had four nozzles which initially made it confusing to know how to use it. The pressure was strong, and it had hot water. - The pool area on the roof is nice and good for sunbathing and relaxing. - The location is great. It's in the heart of Copa and only a five-minute walk from a large supermarket and the beach. Cons - Staff weren't particularly friendly. A smile was a big ask most of the time. - Due to a later flight, my friend asked if he could stay at the hotel a little longer. He was allowed to store his bags, but any further than the lobby (i.e. the pool) meant he would have to pay for another day. What's more, when he conceded to pay another day, they unapologetically told him they were too busy. - The beds were old and hard. I'll need half a year of chiropractic work before my neck is in good health. - The aircon is louder than a harrier jet. Ensure you have earplugs to soften the noise. Fortunately, we had these. However, they didn't completely drown out the noise. - The wifi doesn't work. - The TV works for about 10 minutes before losing signal and exploding into a fuzzy, loud static. - One lift means long waits to get up and down the floors and often cramped trips, which are made even more uneasy when you hear the disconcerting crackles as it approaches the ground floor. - The gym attire was invented when God was a boy. - Many of the pool chairs were worn and had holes in them. - The phone in the room doesn't seem to work. When I went downstairs to order an additional glass for the room, it never came. So we ended up using a plastic one we found on a previous shopping trip. - Finally, to control the electricity in the room, you're met with a control panel from the USS Enterprise. It would take us several attempts each night to find the right configuration to turn the main light out.

One of the only hotels that has balcony in their rooms. Great breakfast, great area, and good staff. When I hangout in Rio I always stay here when I can. It is dated but that is normal in Rio. Most hotels in RIO are dated so don't get hung up on pictures.

I honestly can't remember one good thing about this hotel except for maybe the shower pressure and it's only a few blocks from the beach. I only stayed here because availability in the city was low and this hotel claimed to have a gym. The hotel is old and decaying. The rooms are dirty. The elevator is slow and makes odd noises which gives the impression that it's dangerous. The bedsheets were dirty. The cleaning service barely passes through your room. One she came by and I was busy. She said to have reception send her back. I asked reception and she never came. The towels were dirty. The breakfast was indeed varied but of poor quality. You will find some things like fresh bananas and papaya which was always good, but some of the warm dishes were questionable. The juice tasted like water. The staff was borderline rude. The worst part was the rooftop pool which was filthy. The jacuzzi was also filthy (pic shown). The gym needs to be shut down. The equipment is unusable to the point that I had to join a gym outside the facility. I refused to use the gym available (pics shown).

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of an organised group tour. This was our final destination before flying home and unfortunately it was not the best hotel. I asked to change rooms immediately and in fact 'upgraded' to a 'suite' for $20 per night. It was better than our original room but hardly a suite. At least the bed was clean, which was my main problem with the first room. The toilet seat was held together with tape! The windows are single glazed and the room is very noisy even though we were on the 13th floor! Take ear plugs. The air con is also very noisy, you could not keep this on at night, luckily we didn't need to. Overall the room was acceptable. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was absolute chaos. They kept running out of everything. We had to hunt for coffee cup and pretty much everything. The room is too small for the amount of guests all piling in at the same time. It was a bun fest. The staff were trying their best, they were just overloaded. Don't bother trying to get a drink in the hotel, the bar shuts at 3pm. The bar man was very sweet but pretty useless. Wifi only really works in the reception area. The hotel feels safe and secure. The neighbourhood is not the best at night but it's convenient for the beach and restaurants, a few blocks away. The pool is tiny and the seating area is quite run down. The whole hotel needs some updating, it all feels a bit run down. Overall not an unpleasant stay but none of our group was happy with their room.

Good location, excellent services, very secure. The Hotel is next to a primary school could take away points because in the lowers floor generates a lot of noise for rest. It's near the subway, a lot of restaurants and only 3 streets of the Copacabana beach.

Very rude staff. Can start aggressive behavior at you without any preliminary conversation, shout at you if you were unlucky to broke / finish your mask. ask for one, they won’t give it and will shout that they will call the police. While I do not have a problem with wearing a mask, I have problems with staff that threatens me with police rather than have a pack of masks for customers or a polite conversation. Another example: coming back at 23 PM, with keys, they check if you really living in your room while having all documents with names and passports in hands, seeing you coming back with keys on a regular night. Making you wait like you are there for the first time without any polite answer if there is a problem. No respect to customers, I do not recommend this hotel because of the staff. Air conditioning problem was mentioned here numerous times, but the problem is here and it’s hard to sleep because of its noise and dripping water. Allergic people can forget about the appropriate breakfast here. Not much options.

The outside of the Augusto is quite classy and the friendly doorman as well as the exceptionally nice front desk staff makes it a pleasure to stay there from your first impression to your last. Like many 4* hotels it needs a bit of upgrading but this is cosmetic. The staff are what makes this a great place to stay. Within a short distance from Copacobana beach , bars, restaurants ,local shops and supermarkets this hotel suits both the pocket and the legs. The room was clean, had a great shower and nice toiletries and a telly. During our stay the pool was empty but the rooftop view was beautiful. The breakfast on offer was really good. This is a good value place to stay when in Rio. Give it a try.

This hotel was the starting point for a small group tour I was on. I stayed for 5 consecutive nights so got to know it quite well. The photos on the hotel website do make it all look better than it is but I still gave it a rating of 4 because I felt safe here and it is in a perfect spot. The pool is tiny so no point in coming here if that matters to you. The gym area was quite good and going up on the roof is worth it for the views. The staff are very helpful. Breakfast could be better ( awful jam and juice) but it was adequate. The room was spotlessly clean so I could walk around barefoot which isn´t always the case! There are bars and restaurants close by and the famous beach is just a few minutes walk away. Bus stops and the Metro are just a couple of minutes walk away too.
