We arrived late in the evening after our long flight, to a sanctuary and calm and friendliness. Claudio and Gabriel are absolutely meticulous hosts. Caring, kind and practical. Their house hotel is charming - showcasing beautiful traditional decor, and luxurious modern touches. We upgraded to the Carioca room, and it was a delight. Lovely views over Rio, and a little...

Fantastic days, in a fantastic place with fantastic people. Everything is well taken care of and nothing is left without a thought. Our room was great, the city view is splendid, the breakfast delicious and the garden is like a dream. But best of all is Claudio and Gabriel who knows what a great service is about. Claudio and his partner have created a gorgeous oasis in Santa Teresa. It's pricey, but it was the last night of our honeymoon, so we splashed out on the Carioca Suite and it was so worth it. Fabulous room with a great city view and a private plunge pool. Comfy bed, AC, mini bar, really nice towels and a private...

A lovely guesthouse in Santa Teresa within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Nice rooms, lovely gardens, view and swimming pool (one room has its own small plunge pool) and very pleasant and helpful owners. Breakfast - different every day and served outdoors - is memorable. A place to relax in Rio.

In Santa Theresa highs stands this lovely "Pousada". Close to the noisy and crowded Lapa, with its bars, traditional arches and even the welcomed back trolley. From the hotel balcony and the silent 4 of 5 rooms we have spectacular views from those main attractions of the old city of Rio. Just an advice for disabled walking people, about plenty...

In between Lapa and Santa Teresa to be exact - is the perfect place to stay the area. The owners are perfectionists and this is reflected on everything about the house hotel and the service they provide. The room we stayed in is amazing and better than most hotels I've been to - very clean, comfortable, stylish, and beautiful. Also...

We stayed for 5 days and it felt like home! We explored the city and the location of the B&B was perfect. If you want to escape from the busy city you can relax at the pool with an amazing view. The breakfast was very good. Concluding, a perfect place to stay in Rio!

After travelling to over 50 countries I can say, this is for certain one of the better places I've staid. It's not only beautifull, but the personal thouch of the owners, Gabriel and Claudio, is amazing. They help you where they can. It has only 6 rooms, the breakfast is delicious (everything fresh made) and presented in a tasty way....

I was traveling with my mother and we were not sure if we would be missing something out by not staying near the beach. We were also concerned about how "bohemian" Santa Teresa is. At the end we did not miss the beach, we did go to visit it though. Santa Teresa is a very charming corner of Rio. Casa...

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
