Casa Verde, the Adults Only Boutique Guest House, is located in the exclusive neighbourhood Sao Conrado. Sao Conrado is close to the beach and Tijuca forest which makes Casa Verde an attractive destination for those looking for a relaxing break surrounded by nature. Rio de Janeiro is home to the world's largest urban forest, The Tijuca Forest (Floresta da Tijuca) covers around 34 square Kilometres of Rio's mountainous city. Sao Conrado is one of Rio's most affluent neighborhoods, and is located in the South Zone, just 7km from the famous Ipanema and Copacabana Beaches. Sao Conrado is the only neighbourhood in Rio that is close to the beach and the mountains. It's famous for its Hang Gliders, Golf Course, and Eco Tourism as well as its famous Fashion Mall. The famous neighbourhood of Barra da Tijuca is just a few minutes away, making Verde the ideal destination for both business and leisure travellers. Environmental Practices At Casa Verde we try to operate, as much as we can, in an environmentally manner. •We collect, store and filter mountain water for the use within the house. •Water is heated, in part, by solar panels, it is our intention to expand this in due course. •90% Of our lighting is provided using LED lamps. •Our essential exterior lighting is controlled using Photocell technology. •We have large overhangs on the building to reduce the amount of sunlight and heat entering the building, therefore helping to reduce air-conditioning use. •As much as possible our electrical appliances are rated A or B •In-room notices are provided to guests asking for assistance in reducing electricity and water usage. •All Plastic, paper, glass and metal is separated for recycling purposes. •We operate a sheet and towel re-use policy. •All areas of the property are Non Smoking.

I was looking for somewhere to call home for a couple of nights in Rio after a business trip. I'd arranged some trips in the Tijuca forest during my stay and found Casa Verde when looking for somewhere close by. I couldn't have been happier with me choice. The room was perfect for me, the views out of he window were incredible and I woke up to the sound of monkeys in the morning. Highly reccomended. Thanks guys. You were amazing!

Casa Verde is a hidden jewel nestled in the Tijuca Rainforest. It is ideally located at the base of Pedra Bonita, just above São Conrado beach and around the bend from Pedra da Gávea. Since the Pedra da Gávea, Tijuca Forest and road to Alto de Boa Vista, are our family’s favorite attractions in all of Rio, Casa Verde was heaven on earth for us! As a party of three “senior citizen” couples from the U.S., security was a “top priority” for us. Casa Verde is located in a safe neighborhood, tucked into its own gated property. Security is not an issue. As current residents of São Paulo, living in city apartments, one of the couples of our group commented that our two-night stay in Casa Verde was the best they have slept since arriving in Brazil! Although located on Estrada das Canoas, there is very little traffic, especially at night. No noise! Sleeping in the cool, oxygen-rich forest air and waking up to the sounds of Tucanos and Parrots was definitely a bonus not found in other Rio accommodations. The highlight of our two-night stay at Casa Verde was the hospitality extended to us by Stuart and Mauricio. These two creative, talented, charming B&B co-owners have done an incredible job of converting a tropical mountain property gem into what feels like a Frank Loyd Wright masterpiece. We thoroughly enjoyed their home and hospitality. In summary, our two-night stay in Casa Verde, was more like a visit to the home of close family than staying in a traditional B&B. Casa Verde is the best B&B we have ever stayed in. The location, accommodations and owners are exceptional. The breakfast (featuring Mauricio’s cakes) and the Snausers were icing on the cake!

This B&B is pearl of architectural design, with a fantastic landscaping. It is located on a hill, in Leblon- a fancy, rich, and quiet neighborhood of Rio de Janeiro. If you want to sleep during the night, you will prefer this neighborhood o the Copacabana or Ipanema areas. The building is in the middle of an urban forest, so each room has a wonderful view of the jungle, with monkeys, parrots, toucans and other birds in the surrounding trees. The owners are very helpful in recommending different touristic, customized itineraries of Rio De Janeiro.

Absolutely stunning place surrounded by ancient forest yet close to Rio's best beaches and attractions. The guys can't do enough to make you feel at home and the breakfast was out of this world. Great suites with beautiful woodwork throughout. The pool deck with steamroom is great and totally private. So luxurious and comfortable we slept like babies. We will definitely be back. A quick uber ride to beaches, forest and activities like hang gliding. Great place to escape from it all. Even the two doggies are loving and happy to see you.

My wife and I recently stayed in casa verde, and had an amazing time. Stuart and Mauricio were incredible hosts and were very accommodating. We had a mishap a few months ago that prevented us from traveling on our scheduled date. They were very understanding and credited our deposit to our new booking date, something most places would not honor. The room was spacious and clean, and came with 2 very special alarm clocks, Bobby and Pepper, their 10 yr old Schnauzers. It was wonderful being greeted by them each morning. We were also presented with a lovely breakfast spread that included homemade zucchini cake that was delicious. We had so derful chats with Stuart and Mauricio who showed us how to use uber to conveniently get around and helped sort out our bus service for the next stay. The home is beautifully decorated and furnished and has a good location in the mountain with a view, yet close enough to the beach and downtown area. We certainly felt like we were treated like family and would stay here again in a heartbeat if we travel back to Rio. Thank you Stuart & Mauricio!
