This is supposedly a 3 star hotel in Rio. While it was clean, the rooms were tiny, there was a noticeable gap between the ac unit and the outer wall (to the point sunlight was streaming in), and the location isn't the best. The elevator squeaking could be heard no matter which room you have. The staff was pleasant enough,... More

Spent 5 nights in the Majestic for the Olympics. Ideal hotel in a great location - 5 minute easy walk to Copacabana beach and 3 minutes walk to the Metro. Although the room was small, it was clean, beds were comfortable and the shower was great. The only slight moan about the room was the noisy aircon! Breakfast was fantastic... More

On arrival we checked in. Very little interest in us...more interest in what was going on in the Olympics on the telly. The young man.... the concierge was very very helpful and showed us to our room. Room very basic but bed was comfortable. Bathroom very dated. There was a constant sound of running water from the ceiling in the... More

Had a very large room - two large double beds which were both very comfy. No view at all from the window (straight onto another blank grey wall) but never mind. Air con very efficient and not too noisy. Room seemed fairly modern and was clean and comfy. Wifi fast and easy to connect to. Breakfast was great - lots... More

The Majestic Hotel has excellent customer service and a very personalized front desk staff especially the manager Mario. Mario gave us stellar advise on local restaurants and places to go for a drink. The rooms were clean and the hotel was in a very quiet residential area. I would recommend this delightful hotel to anyone who wants to stay in... More

I visited the hotel in March 2016. The hotel is in the perfect location. A short walk away from the beach and all shops. The hotel room was clean and tidy. The beds are very small though. Upon arrival, nobody explained anything about the hotel. However when I asked them specific questions in the following days, they have been helpful.... More

I have been contacted by demand from a number of you wanting more information about my review on this hotel. The following should help to clear up errors and doubt. The hotel was rated 3.5 stars by the operator Gold Medal Travel Group Plc. I made a mistake when writing Gold Tours, I must revoke this. Please understand, I would... More

This hotel has a great value, the rooms are new, pretty reformed. My reservation was for a double room with a double bed. For my surprise, the room had a big bed that could be shared for 3 people (not our case). The bathroom was big too, it had two sinks and the shower was good with hot water, but... More

The hotel is very old. The bath room smelled bad. I have to ask for a different one. You can hear your neighbor flushing, showering and door slamming. Unable to close windows tight, you can hear all the street noises.Sheets were dirty and you can see blood stain...Gross. It is about 7-8 blocks to Copacabana beach. The walk is a... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
