Our room was dated and not very clean. (could use a thorough refurbishing) The water was slow running out of the tub and every time we took a shower, the bathroom floor is completely covered with water so we spent a lot of time mopping it up with towels. The room was cleaned only every other day which was not... More

This hotel is just for storing your luggage and sleeping. The rooms are poorly refurbished. The floor had a hump, and was never really clean. The service is decent definitely not great. The plusses are that the hotel is right at the Copacabana Beach so that made it a plus. Close to restaurants and a 15 minute walk from the... More

The hotel is very well located, right on Atlântica Avenue. The room was very big and comfortable, though the bathroom looked a little bit old. The breakfast was OK, nothing special. The view from the breakfast room was the best part of it.

It's old but it's really clean and service is very good just like the staff is really friendly and kind. It's not expensive and it's well located with a great view and everything's close. Had 5th floor. Expected less from a 3 stars hotel I do recommend it. Breakfast is really good they have varieties. Parking is a problem since... More

the hotel has a great location, in the heart of copacabana. Nice staff and, and big, big rooms with amazing front beach balconies. Needs some improvement on the decor, a bit old I guess. But a nice choice!

Average hotel with older, sparse furnishings. Clean with a good view of Copacabana beach. Had a few issues with hot water and the wifi but were sorted out reasonably easy. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Ok hotel but not luxurious. Nothing fancy.

The hotel is situated in Copa Cabanna. If you get a chance to get a room with a view, it is wonderful. The room was for 3 people, pretty spacious, and the beds pretty comfy. The bathroom was ok, however we have experienced a small issue with the toilet bowl, but was not that big to discourage us. Breakfast was... More

The Rio Lancaster was the first hotel I stayed at on my first trip to Rio 28 years ago, (it was the Othon Lnacaster Hotel then). I must have stayed here more than 50 times since then. I have found the staff to be friendly and helpful all of time. I have always opted for an oceanfront room with a... More

This was reasonably expensive however quite dated. We had a sea view with a balcony which saved things. There was no pool. There are newer but more expensive hotels. It is the area. The beach is huge and well populated. The staff were helpful

This hotel is an older one situated at the end of the Copacabana beach front (other end not Ipanema end) with several restaurants around the corner. Although it is right on the main street we didn't find it noisy and we were only on the second floor with a balcony looking over the street and beach. Reception were efficient and... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
