Ipanema is considered Rio's crown jewel. It offers the best view of the sunset from Arpoador and is inspiration for the legendary song, “The Girl from Ipanema.” Ipanema is an upscale area, home to many high-end restaurants and luxury shops, many of which can be found on the charming Garcia d'Ávila Avenue. The neighbourhood is very rich culturally, housing many art galleries that show contemporary art. There is also a great variety of nightlife in the neighbourhood, which buzzes with many options for every taste.

The hotel is only a street away from the beach good situation. close to shop and cafes. The room itself was very small and the aircon was blowing on the bed. We could not change the air so we turned it off at night and opened the window. Unfortunately the street noise was loud.

We stayed at the Atlantis Copacabana at the start of our South America trip and we thought that it was fine. It has a great location just a five minute walk from both Copacabana and Ipanema beaches. It was nothing special, but certainly worked for us. The breakfast buffet was

We liked this hotel. The staff was super friendly, everything is clean, room a bit outdated maybe. We had a sea view room... 9th floor... not sure if it is really worth paying the extra money. The hotel is just between Copacabana and Ipanema. Posto 8, Shops and restaurants are

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. Rooms are big and clean, but you hear nearly everything from your neighbours. Hats off to the woman who shared her joy for nearly the whole night two days in a row - and her lover of course. Breakfast was okay - nothing extraordinary, but

We stayed here for 5 nights. Our room had a sea view which was nice. Close to beach and shops once you find your way! Very confusing with streets that do not run parallel! Room should have a kettle for coffee and tea. No room service. We came back from a 10 hour tour and was

is there free shuttle service to and from the airport?
Not one provided by the hotel. They did call us a cab on our way back. Its easy to get a cab at the airport to the hotel, cost about $40-50.

The rooms are big enough for three people, when I was there, we were three people and it was just fine. The rooms are nice, they are not fancy, but they are not old, they are clean, have ac, tv, safe and it's pretty comfortable. You can have a view of the street, it's nice. But you can go to the pool and there you can see a lot from the area. :) hope it helps
