Price was high like everywhere else since it was Carnaval but relatively cheap when compared to hotels like the one next door (Atlantic). This is a hostel and not a hotel therefore you should not expect hotel standards. Our quadruple room was small but okay; bed was comfortable, towels changed daily and hot water in shower although we did not... More

I did stay during the World Cup so maybe the prices were slightly inflated. For the price I'm not sure you can categorize this as an budget hotel - but maybe that's the best you're going to get for Rio. I don't recommend the small single room - I didn't get to see the double rooms but maybe they were... More

Where do I start! The first thing I would like to mention is the quality of the room was very very poor. We booked the Executive Quad Room as we looked at the facilities that would be in this room, but the majority of them wasn't included. According to the booking.com website, the room facilities (which are guaranteed) are as... More

I would not recommend this accommodation or stay here again. Pousada means a persons house = bed & breakfast which I did not understand. The first room we were in smelt very wet, and had asbestos roof. The bathroom was very very small. It felt like the room had been slapped together very cheaply. They had tried to dress the... More

We stayed at this hotel March 2 and 3, 2014. We checked out March 4 and on reviewing our credit card statements once we got home we found 3 additional fraudulent charges made by this hotel dated March 10,14 and 15 totalling an additional 1,142 BRL. The charges were made against a card that was NEVER used in this hotel... More

A lace close to the beach and in the thick of things, best approached in the daylight, as at night, the narrow lane way can be a bit confronting. It is more of a motel/hostel rather than a hotel. The room we had was clean. It was small a bit cramped, but all the facilites worked. Breakfast on the top... More

The pousada has 13 rooms. Some of them are nice ones like the "Bruna" - with a good size bathroom and AC. But there are terrible ones like the "Jovem" bedroom that is very small, does not have AC and as soon as breakfast is being served...you can no longer sleep since guest sit right in front of the teeny,... My husband and I booked this "hotel" through booking.com having had several good experiences with booking.com on our trip around the world. I don't know if we paid too much because we booked through booking.com this time, or what happened. We arrived and were shown to an absolutely stinking room up on the third floor. The place stank of toilet... More

The upper floor rooms might be nicer, but our room on the ground floor was effectively open to the reception area and so you could hear every word, footstep, cough etc from staff or passers by. We found cockroaches in the bathroom and the drainage from the room above ran across our ceiling and made an incredibly loud noise during... More

Staying in Copacabana

Neighborhood Profile
Copacabana
The rowdy Copacabana is one of the most traditional and old areas from Rio de Janeiro. This neighbourhood is a blend of Brazilian soul - crowded, rowdy and traditional. This neighbourhood has a bit of everything: bars with music, pubs, street fairs, chaotic streets, and many shops. All these things and more live side-by-side. There are options for all price points and tastes. However, the most powerful draw in Copacabana is still the fantastic view of the coast and the incredible beaches.
