Terrible breakfast, it´s suppose to be from 8 to 10 am. But If you wake up 9h you wont find many things. They usually offer bread, cheese and ham, coffee and milk. They always have one cake, actually one cake...cut in 10 pieces....Only in my room there were 15 people...And if you question staff they say, Wake up early next... More

We got Bed Bugs! Staff was slow to react to the problem and didn't take seriously, and many of us had them for multiple nights. They only refunded one nights and did my laundry as compensation. There were far too few toilets and showers, and making it worse, toilets were often out of order. The TRIPLE BUNK dorms left little... More

Would be a pretty good hostel, if it wasn't for the bedbugs. The staff knows, but doesn't seem to care: they were checking in new people as we were cleaning our bags. Do not stay here until they have new mattresses or bags around them. We got bites all over our arms and spent our whole last day in Rio... More

Bed bugs ruined what would have been a good stay. The staff, especially Juan, were really helpful and friendly, however, the owners did not seem to care about the bed bug epidemic! They would remove a patron from a bed bug infested room, into another and then allow new guests to check into the bug ridden bed. Other than this,... More

I was visiting for 2 days and one night at this small beach Backpackers in Rio. Staff are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are usually tight because a lot of beds in 6/8 dorms. Besides the suburb is a very quiet area. Cleanliness could be a bit better but it's an old house and when the rooms are full... More

This hostel looked so great in the picture, description and high rating... and it was cheap. And as far as to the dorm bedroom it was nice. But the dorm I stayed in was horrible, the mattresseses was so old and worn that I wonder what else lives in there... And the pillow, I wouldn't use if I got payed...... More

Stayed at this hostel for a couple of weeks so far, really chilled and relaxing atmosphere. The staff are really helpful and friendly they helped us a lot planning our routes for different day trips. The hostel itself is clean and comfortable to stay in with warm showers- don't find that in many hostels travelling! The location of the hostel... More

I came to this hostel as a backpacker, The name says it backpackers hostel, Why two stars... The first ten meters are really nice and beautiful it looks modern like as you see on the pictures, but after you past that ten meters going upstairs it's just an old hostel with a lot of tiny bunkbeds unsafe for at least... For the price this is definitely the hostel to choose on a budget, though make sure you always book through hostel-world as the rates are cheaper than booking at reception- even if you're extending, go back online to book up!!! The hostel has everything you need: great location to metro and supermarkets, some good eats around too! It's walking distance... More

Botafogo
In recent years, Botafogo has become one of the hottest neighbourhoods in Rio. It hosts many modern restaurants with contemporary food and many venues to listen to rock and electronic music. Its numerous bars and pubs make this area a great choice for anyone interested in a great nightlife experience - in fact, some bars in the area are open all night. Casa Daros, an art museum that showcases amazing artists from Latin America, is a must see located in a historical building in Botafogo.
