When my friends and I go for holiday, one of our trusted budget hotel is - Ibis. We heard news on how risky this city could go, so we booked a room in Ibis as we are confident that it's safe and indeed it is. A little notice though that the wifi access is too slow. I hope that they...

Dreadful hotel, but it's an ibis budget !! absolute rip off during the Rio Olympics - no fridge, safe, wardrobe or clothes storage facilities in the room, which when you are staying for 2 weeks is not good - do not stay front side of hotel on a Friday or Saturday night as the night club opposite plays music all...

I only stayed for one night in the dorm room. The room was clean and comfortable and only a few of the beds were occupied. The staff were helpful but I had to queue quite a long time at reception each time about 15-20 mins.

Good location close to the airport, LAPA with easy accet to the subway and important areas in RJ. The service was very good service and people helpful. But very simple room: small and with no refrigerator.

This hotel is excellent, location near the beach, fair price and according to accomodation. The system check in and check out is fast. I recommended the Ibis Budget Hotel for vacation with friends or family. Enjoy!

You get precisely what you need, a modern yet simple bedroom, a comfy bed, shower and bathroom. Breakfast has an additional cost, but I definitely recommend you take it. It's blocks away from Copacabana beach. I would definitely go back.

I stayed at this hotel many times before, but now quality is below expected level based on past experience. WiFi in the room forget it; it works sometimes in the corridor but most of the time I had to go down to the lobby for connection. Elevators are having problems all the time. Trying to buy voucher for breakfast, the...

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Downtown Rio is the place where this city was born. With modern skyscrapers sharing space with historical buildings and landmarks, this neighbourhood is living proof that the old and the new can live together harmoniously. As you would expect, downtown is where all major companies house their offices. However, the region isn’t restricted to businesses. Gems such like the “Paço Imperial,” which is a cultural centre that used to serve as a residence for governors of Brazil, can be found here. Pedra do Sal, a Monday night street party, is also in this neighbourhood. This landmark is the birthplace of samba and is famous for its “roda de sambas” (“dance circles”). Stop in for one and get closer to discovering where Brazilian happiness comes from.
