I stayed at Hotel Ingles before Olympics and there were members of Austrian Olympic team staying here, their village rooms must have been unready like the Australians. The Hotel is quaint, old school and everything is old, including the wonderful lift. At the other end of the street is Musee da Republica a wonderful old building and excellent gardens you...

It´s a very simple place, the accommodations are not good. Single mattress is very narrow. Breakfast is just regular and in the days I spent there, there bugs flying around the food. They tried to prevent by using some kind of net protection but it didn´t work. The elevator is very old and again narrow, sometimes it stops not in...

Very close to the city center and in a very nice neighborhood. You have a nice park in front of the hotel and el Palacio de Catete, a historical landmark in Rio. Also walks around this area are just lovely. People working at the hotel are really nice and the breakfast is also fine. If you happen to get a...

My boyfriend and I just got back from Hotel Ingles after staying for eight nights and I could not be happier that I booked to stay here. The hotel is located in a perfect location, a five minute walk to the beach, metro station and main shops, and there are constantly a stream of taxis outside. At no point did...

The Hotel is basic. Decor bed sheets from the 70's and a lift that I hadn't seen since the 1970's. It is clean. Breakfast was nice with freshly sueezed orange juice a nice surprise. Staff speak virtually no English. Good access to metro and the area seems very safe to walk around in even late at night. Rooms had hot...

After an overnight flight we wanted a place to recover for a couple of nights and booked this place as being well located near Rio city centre. Thats about all this hotel has going for it. On arrival we pointed out that there were no batteries in the room safe and were promised some the following morning but they never...

Ratty is the only word to describe this place: grubby & stained towels, lumpy mattresses, raggedy sheets, dirty corridors, slimy shower, plus the traditional poor service of Brazilian hospitality-service staff (I was born in Brazil, so that part didn't faze me). Very good location, but by no means this aspect compensate for the rest. The only reason for staying in...

We stayed in a triple room for 2 nights.. the reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean. Out of the 3 beds we had one that was very hard and uncomfortable, but all clean. The breakfast was a small buffet, not a great selection but still nice. The hotel had free internet in the...

This is the WORST hotel that I've ever stayed at. On the first night, we found that the hot water did not work in the shower. The entire room was old, run down, and disgusting. On the second night, we found BED BUGS in the bed. We checked out immediately. They refused to reimburse us. **STAY AS FAR AWAY AS...
