Cute, comfort hostel with great value for money and with some of the best and more friendly and helpful stuff I have met in any hostel. If you are lucky enough you will meet Guarai from the reception and if you are more lucky he will show you around Rio. The breakfast is good with fresh fruits and juice and...

Fantastic views, the balcony area is brilliant for viewing these! This place is difficult to find for taxi drivers as it is not well signed but have a good map to show your driver. Breakfast was good, location is central but a bit of a walk downhill to get to the buses and metro etc. Would have to be more...

The view from the the balcony is absolutely stunning. The common place is also really cool with the view !! Little bad point for the breakfast which is a bit small (would be good if the hostel puts some more fruits, cakes or sth). Rooms are ok with good beds. And most of all Bruna, who is working there is...

This hostel has everything you need. The staff are very friendly and the beds are reasonably comfortable and showers are good too. The view from the balcony is the best hostel view in Rio. It is also a short walk to Lapa (party neighbourhood) and to get there you walk down the famous red tiled stairs which are always nice...

It's a bit of a walk from the buses and metro-station (15' walk uphill, but safe) but for that you get a gorgeous view over the city-center. There's a shop around the corner and also some restaurants and bars just a 5' walk away. The dorm is big and so are the lockers. The bathrooms is clean and the showers...

Comparing my last 3 weeks travel in 8 different accommodations (of varying cost and quality), this place was good. I arrived late and the front desk didn't really speak English which was a bit difficult but not impossible as i had my booking and knew how much i owed and the rest was fine. Dorm Room was clean, no aircon...

In my time in Rio i had stayed in 3 air bnb's, 1 hotel and 2 hostels all around the city, Vidigal, Botafogo, Santa Teresa and Copacabana. Terra Brasilis has the most breathtaking views that feels inclusive and just impressive. The staff are wonderful, warming and truly a friendly aid to your trip. The breakfast is class, not only quality/choice/quantity...

My friend and I stayed a couple nights at a hostel in Botafogo and also at Terra Brasilis. All I can say is I loved this hostel and especially LOVED the Santa Teresa neighborhood! Some guidebooks have said Santa Teresa can be dangerous, but we didn't feel unsafe at all. There are amazing restaurants in the area and it has...

Staying in Santa Teresa

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Teresa
Santa Teresa is a bohemian enclave hosting many local artists’ studios. The narrow, winding streets of this neighbourhood were revitalised years ago, and visitors can now stroll through this area to view magnificent mansions dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. A highlight not miss: Museu Chacará do Céu, a former mansion turned museum which houses works by prominent Brazilian modern artists.
