This was our second stay at Kodiak Mountain Resort in Afton WY. When my spouse suggested a quick get-away I accepted without hesitation. Afton WY is hardly a destination vacation, but Kodiak Mountain Resort may just turn that around. We booked a “cozy king cabin,” arriving just as the front desk was closing, and they had a contingency plan in place if we were to get in later - thank you, very much! Outdoor lighting greated us, and we parked 10 steps from the door. Bedding down for the night was enjoyable in a comfy bed with the BEST PILLOWS EVER. The bathroom was well appointed (large double headed shower with seating) and our cabin included a large soaking tub which was located out in the main room. High beamed ceilings, 12-inch log walls and beams, heavy wood furniture and the rock encased fireplace added to the rustic feel. We didn’t get to have breakfast because we couldn’t get up and out early enough (ends at 10:00) - we had a couple of late nights - but I remember it as being prepared to my specifications on our previous stay. After the rain stopped on our last afternoon, we took advantage of the heavy wooden porch bench which we discovered, to our delight, would convert into a picnic table!! Moved the computer and novels outdoors on that lovely afternoon. The room also included a kitchenette, an overstuffed rocker, a couch (I assume it was a fold out), ample storage in a dresser, closet, kitchenette drawers, and bathroom cabinet. A desk or writing table would have been a nice addition to this very comfortable and quiet room. Cabins are surrounded by lots of lawn and a play area, bike and trailer parking sheds, and there is also an RV park, and a building that we read was to house a crossfit facility in the future. One note: pay attention to the small clipboard standing on the microwave, and it’s to-do list. When housekeeping comes to your room they will complete the tasks you have ticked off. No more, no less. You want fresh towels? Check it off. Bed made? Check it off. It took us a day to figure that out. Once we did, all was great. Please stay at Kodiak Mountain Resort. It is worth the trip to Afton.

I’ve been here 4 times now since they opened a few years ago. It’s a very nice, clean facility with fantastic staff. The location is close to the road, but it’s a small town and traffic is mostly people passing through. The noise from the road is only noticeable when a big rig drives by. Plenty of space in the RV spots. Flat, level concrete slabs and a nice piece of lawn beside each spot. It’s not a huge park, but that actually makes it nicer in my opinion. Folks are generally neighborly. And you’re not on top of each other. One of the nicest RV spots we’ve stayed at since we started RVing in 2015.

First impressions are always important to us. Kodiak surpassed the beauty standards at the main building. Getting to our cabin #4 looking around grounds very well kept and attention to detail was imminent. We walk in and we were wowed by the space. From construction to the beautiful fireplace. Bed was comfortable and linen smelled like just washed. The breakfast room is perfect and the food was great specially the omelette. The young lady was great. Now the few things that I was disappointed in. There is no place to have a meal in the room if you so choose, I would remove the dresser and bench and replace with a two seat small table, supply disposal dinnerware and paper towels, a heater in the bathroom would be nice, it wasn’t even freezing cold outside but the bathroom was cold. The store was never opened while we were there and the laundry was being remodeled, I had planned to do laundry. Provide bikes for guests would be great since there’s not much to do in the area for a longer stay. I would certainly stay again. Afton in mid part of September is pretty quiet and that’s what we like.

We stayed two nights at Kodiak Mountain Resort RV park in Afton, WY on our way home to Nevada from Yellowstone NP. Kodiak is in the town of Afton, WY which is situated in the Star Valley along Hwy 89, between Jackson and Evanston. The beautiful drive South from Jackson takes you through Alpine, WY along the Snake River.
Things to do near Kodiak include golfing, hiking to the Periodic Spring, about 5 miles from town; and, shopping along Afton’s quaint Main Street.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kodiak! If your travels take you along this stretch of Hwy 89 we highly recommend stopping here. The staff were cheery and helpful as we had to push our stay back one day. They took care of that item quite nicely. Definitely would stay here, again.
The RV park has level FHU pull-through sites, a bath house and laundry which were both spotless! Very quiet at night and a pretty view of the nearby green hills. The resort area of Kodiak has a SPA, conference room, boutique, playground, cabins, and a mountain top outdoor shop and Star Valley cross-fit building, which is under construction in 2023. Hope to see you at an RV park like Kodiak Mountain Resort in the near future!

After spending the day hiking through Grand Teton, this was an amazing place to stay, and far cheaper than anything in Jackson Hole. The cabin had every amenity you could think of, and even some I hadn't even thought of. The cabin was clean and comfortable, with AC, gas fireplace, kitchenette with Keurig coffee maker, dual headed shower, large bathtub in the room (not in the bathroom,) big TV with every imaginable cable channel for entertainment. (Had to binge watch Ted Lasso since we don't have AppleTV at home!) The breakfast was tasty with fresh waffles, omelettes made to order, croissant, sausage and egg to make a breakfast sandwich, along with cereal, juice, fruit, muffins. We will definitely be staying here again if we come back for a Yellowstone/Grand Teton roadtrip.

Kodiak Mountain had the cleanest, well maintained, great comfortable beds, well stocked bathrooms, walk in shower, and a deep bathtub.
The room came with a full breakfast with freshly cooked omlette, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, ready to make waffles, pancakes, fruit, and juice. Very satisfying.

I would strongly encourage anyone to stay at this location if you are traveling through this area. It is about 1.5 hours from Grand Tetons. The drive is a nice scenic drive. The lodge/cabin is SO NICE! It is very well crafted, roomy, has a nice gas fireplace, hot tub, HUGE shower. The breakfast is a hot, custom made breakfast with a ton of options in their beautiful lodge!

The resort is beautiful, clean and charming. The cabins are absolutely gorgeous with intricate attention to detail. The logs are the biggest I’ve ever seen. The bed was comfortable, the cabin very cozy with a fireplace, tub and gorgeous tiled bathroom with beautiful shower, two shower heads. The staff were all very charming and accommodating. We got a very reasonable rate which included a delicious breakfast with made to order omelettes. We will definitely be returning.

This is one of the nicest rv parks we have stayed at. The layout is so well thought out. The roads (gravel) are extra wide and the sites are spacious with a nice lawn area for each space. The way they are laid out you can hardly tell you have neighbors. The office and club house are very nice. The grounds are well maintained. We did not stay in a cabin but they look like an excellent option. Our only criminal is the laundry room. There are two washers and two dryers. No sink, no folding area or table, no change machine. $1.50 to wash and $1.00 for a 40 minute dry. The one washer we used malfunctioned on the spin cycle. They did give us a refund. This is a great place to stay. The town of Afton is a quaint small town with many amenities for food and supplies. You have to take time and go to Shumway Farms and try their farm fresh made on site ice cream!!! The views are awesome. We truly enjoyed our stay. Met some very nice folks which is not unusual at rv parks. We definitely recommend Kodiak Mountain Resort. We hope our travels bring us by here soon and we can stay here again!!!

The couple we went with had stayed at Kodiak a few other times and invited us this time. WOW, what a cool place. The craftsmanship on the buildings is amazing. Each log, cut locally, hand huned and fit. The cabins are comfortable with modern amenities. The bed was very comfortable ( better than my own). The grounds are immaculate. They serve a good breakfast with scrambled eggs or omelet plus bacon potatoes, biscuits and gravy etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We are looking forward to our next visit to the Kodiak.
