Went with my small family of 3 for the Menominee River whitewater rafting. There were 7 people plus the guide on our boat. Plenty of space. They bus you to the launch area and take you back by bus (not a long drive). Our guides were experienced professionals but also fun. They also had a professional photographer to take photos (since you can't bring your cell phone obviously). You get to do the class IV rapids twice (short hike after the first run), which was thrilling! Ages in our boat ranged from 13 to 60s or so. Everyone wears a life jacket and helmet and helps paddle. You also get to swim/float in the river for a while if you want. Water is not as cold as mountain stream-fed rivers. They had a nice place to change out of your wet clothes and a small bar/restaurant to have refreshments after the experience.
Only thing I did not appreciate was the photographer saying that sunscreen causes cancer. My grandfather had skin cancer from sun exposure (never wore sunscreen).

We did the zip line, pontoon kayak and wild rafting rides and all were a fantastic experience. First of all I am 72 and my son is a very large man of 36 years. But on our one ride was a 7 year old so all ages and sizes were there. It was a very bumpy wet kayak experience but the guides made this an over the top great memory. It was not easy as we all had to figure out how to get off rocks that trapped us. If someone had trouble there was always a smiling guide nearby to hop into the water and pull us off and onward. The children who came needed a little more help so it ended up a guide tied his pontoon to the kids and pulled him through the wildest passages. The safety instructions were essential as we all needed them and several of us did fall out and have to get pulled back by guides. No worries as it was expected.
Zip lines well I've done more scenic but for those doing it the first time it was a very safe and extremely reassuring time. The guide explained how many hours of training he needed, and that every year the entire set up is carefully inspected, trees with lines attached are adjusted as they grow to even prevent tree damage. The young girl who was very much afraid was given so much careful attention by the trainer that after several tearful moments she scooted on. After that she was smiling and laughing all the way for the next 5 trips across the trees.
The best for last. The wild river raft.
I didn't know what I was doing when I signed up for the EXTRA WILD ride option. Anyway it was my son and I with one guide in the raft. We had the craziest wild rapids and I mean wild. It was like something I'd see in a movie. We went down WATERFALLS and redid it a second time. Don't skip that ride. If any I would say do this if you can only do 1.
The company deserves a 10 out of 10. Don't miss it. See what a professional organization can do to may an adventure truly amazing

My friend and I wanted to get away for a couple of days, so we came here for a white water rafting trip down the Peshtigo River and stayed overnight in one of their cozy cabins.

The temperature was around 50-60F when we arrived, and we were given wet suits at the site, which kept us reasonably warm through the rating trip. The water is warmer, due to the iron content of the water (which we learned during the trip), which wasn't bad. We had only done class I/II rapids before, but the higher class rapids were certainly doable and very fun! Our guide was awesome.

The cabin was also quite cozy and came with a heater. We brought our own sleeping bags and were reasonably warm overnight. I would recommend bringing some bug repellant, which we forgot, as we got stung by mosquitoes quite a few times between the two of us.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking to escape into nature and have a good time!

Thanks for coming to visit and experiencing the river. We're glad you stayed warm and had a good time while rafting. Those pesky mosquitos are always trying to ruin a good experience! We'll see you back next time (with bug repellant)!

I feel extremely fortunate to have such an exceptional spot for rafting and camping so close to me (coming from Chicago). I've come here twice for rafting, high ropes, and rock climbing, and it's my go-to for outdoor adventure. This May was my second trip, and it was a 2-year anniversary with one of my closest friends who I met at Wildman 2 years ago. We were fortunate enough to get James this year as our rafting guide and had an absolutely thrilling ride on the Menomonee. It's a well run operation and solid option for camping and all their outdoor activities.

We rented the CUB cabin for 3 nights. two adults, one 16 year old. He loved sleeping in the loft. The bed was not that comfortable, kind of hard. There is a full kitchen with utensils, coffee maker and microwave. There was our own firepit & picnic table. We brought bag chairs, food, drinks, towels, bedding, flashlight, citronella candle, OFF and an axe. We cut down two dead trees (very small) We did purchase firewood at a gas station. There is a grill, but it's rusty inside. We did the white water raft on the Menominee river. Super fun. I believe you need to be 15 to go down the Piers Gorge Rapids. We also did the ziplining. There is nothing much to do there, other than the activities provided. I would recommend this place for an adventurous family or couple.

My family had such a fantastic time rafting down the Menominee River with Hoot as our guide. He was knowledgeable, entertaining and amusing! My sons who are 10 & 9 and love adventure, he provided us with a smooth sail down the river while guiding us through plenty of thrilling rapids!! His personality fits perfectly for a river guide!! The trip took a little over 2 hours on the water, though it was pretty action packed the entire time. We will definitely return in the future!!

All of the guides were patient, kind, and encouraging. We zip lined, white water rafted and kayaked with a group of two adults and 5 13 year old girls. We had varying degrees of fear at each activity and the guides were amazing dealing with our girls. Already thinking about next year!
