We stayed at this hotel for almost two weeks in an executive suite. We wanted to ensure that we were comfortable for the long stay. And we were not disappointed! The suite was the size of an apartment, with a Juliette balcony over a lovely peaceful courtyard. The hotel grounds are large and wonderful, and very well maintained, with an outdoor and indoor pool, which we enjoyed every day. Breakfast was perfect, with everything you could ask for, and high quality. We used the restaurant in the evening a number of times and again, food was outstanding. We will definitely stay here again!
We stayed at the hotel in December 2019. We went for a walk and left the bedroom window open. A person came in through the bedroom window and stole our credit cards and wallet. He came back a second time to steal the rest, luckily we were inside the room and the assailant got scared and ran away through the window he entered. The hotel did not take responsibility and did not refund the stay. Total lack of common sense and commitment to safety. / Ficamos hospedados no hotel em dezembro de 2019.
A wonderful place to stay in charming Ouro Preto. Get the romantic suite(s) with good views of the adjoining Cathedral. Good restaurant choices and bar. An ideal hotel in this wonderful part of Brazil.
We just had an overnight stay in this hotel which is full of character and conveniently located only a short walk from the town centre. Our Executive Suite had a lovely four poster bed with a separate sitting area overlooking the garden. The bathroom was very spacious. Breakfast was excellent with a wide variety to choose from as well as freshly cooked hot breakfast. All the staff were helpful and friendly and even parked our car in the Private car park. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel
I had a wonderful time at this hotel with my wife and daughter. The room 302 has an astounding view to the church and a cozy room. The hotel has a nice covered swimming pool with warm water - excellent for relax after a day exploring the streets of the old town. The restaurant is also a nice choice with a wonderful wine cellar. Surely an excellent choice to stay.
Room 301 is quite spacious, quiet and pleasant. Very clean and careful service. Book with attendants an official local guide to learn the secrets of Ouro Preto. Very safe neighborhood, you can walk at night safely.
We have enjoyed very much our two nights stay at Solar do Rosário Hotel. Our room was nice and spacious, with a lovely four poster bed an an excellent view to the Rosario Church. We had a complimentary offer to their afternoon tea at our desk when we got to our room. The staff was friendly and polite. We would like to thank Marcelo, Marcos and Diego for their outstanding service. In our opinion there is room for improvement in the cleanliness aspect, there was quite a bit of dust on the bedroom furniture and floor, the curtains haven’t been recently washed - I suffer from allergy and the moment we had the windows shut I really struggled to stop coughing. Another thing I would like to highlight was the amount of items on the menu that weren’t available, such as lime, tomato juice, mint, Casa Valduga Sparkling Wine. Other than that we had a very good time and will be definitely willing to come back!…
Very charming hotel in a great location. Could use some small updates to WiFi and windows for noise control but neither of which would keep me from staying there again. Pros: - location is perfect. 10-15m walk to Plaza Tiradentes and basically all the things you want to see - Rooms are spectacularly clear. Comfortable beds and plenty of hot water and water pressure - The building is old and is full of charm. Really a gorgeous setting - Staff is fantastic. Very helpful and friendly. Cons (none of these would keep me from staying here again) - windows are thin so any noise outside, of which there is plenty until about 10pm, you will hear inside. It's an old building so this is to be expected - WiFi is spotty at best and basically unusable outside of the lobby/Resturant (i was on the second floor). The problem could be solved with very simple wiring and additional routers. This was not an issue at all in Tiradentes (a town 10% the size of OP). - Resturant seems to be lacking a few major minera hits like Tropero. I would definitely stay here again without hesitation. The WiFi thing is frustrating and I'm guessing could easily be fixed for a small investment by the property. The street noise did not keep me awake nor did it hinder my stay at all. I would highly suggest this place unless you are a person who needs dependable WiFi. …
The hotel is located in a quiet street, in the historic center. It has an internal swimming pool (very hot: its temperature is like a bath) and a small very cold external one. I have tested the executive suite. It was very large (a small flat), pleasant and comfortable. Wifi is free and fast. The bed was good. The breakfast was varied, with a buffet. The staff was efficient and nice. A good place for a stay in Ouro-Preto.
Ouro Preto is the gem of the old mountainous Portuguese Colonial towns in Brazil. this hotel is based in an old restored mansion. The original wood floors are beautiful. The grounds are unbelievable, multi-layers overlooking the beautiful mountainous area and the town with its steep steep streets made of cobblestone. There are many public rooms to relax in, and the lobby is especially beautiful at night with floor-to-ceiling Windows and candles lit. There are so many photo opportunities in the hotel itself and I its grounds, not to mention all of the surrounding town
