The hotel is located up on a hill, not central to the downtown area which may be a good thing. It has English speaking staff. The rate was very reasonable as it included breakfast. You can uber from to the hotel very easily and affordably. You get what you pay for and in the case of the Bourbon, I think you get a good value for the money. The room is clean and basic. Small bar area which is usually not staffed in the afternoon and evening. You have to go into the breakfast room and find staff there to serve in the bar / lounge. They have a small gym and outdoor pool and patio. There is no furniture on the patio so it's useless. Also, the position of the pool is such that in the afternoon, it is entirely in the shade. If you want to get some sun by the pool, it has to be before 1pm. Breakfast is decent.…
City business type hotel. Very practical with reasonable lunch and meeting rooms. Rooms are very clean and updated. They did have English speaking staff at the front desk. Reasonably fast internet service in the rooms, basic gym facilities.
This hotel is just regular, it needs renovation, old stuff like the furnitures, carpete stained in the corridors and rooms. The cofee break is just regular, there is no omelet nor tapioca like expected in the hotels at the same level. The room is spacious, the bed is confortable, but the bathroom is old and the airco is noisy. There is free internet, but it does not cover well all the rooms. The stuff in general are cordial and attentive.
This was my first visit to Belo Horizonte. I looked to my local colleagues for a hotel recommendation so I would not book a hotel too far away from the customer we were visiting. This is the hotel I was advised to reserve. Check in was ok, however WiFi password is guest name. Associate at front desk misspelled my name so I could not log-in. I wondered if mis-spelling was the cause so I returned to front desk and asked another associate to check. He read to me the way if was spelled and we found the cause. When I went to the assigned room I could not get any lights to come on. I have spent many nights in hotels all over the world. I am very familiar with the requirement in many hotel rooms (outside U.S.) to insert the room key into a slot to enable lights. The key slot here looks more like a thermostat than a light controlling key slot and it is not labeled in any way, so I missed it. I returned to the front desk and told them the lights would not come on. He switched me to another room. Same problem there. This time I started closely looking at that "thermostat looking" thing on the wall, looking for a place I might put a key card. I found a way and the lights came on. Apparently I am the only person who has ever had this problem so the front desk did not know to tell about the key slot. Also in the first room, I had decided to just put my electronics into the safe and go to dinner and figure out the lights later. The safe would not lock. Safe in the second room locked. In the room there was an iron and ironing board. Apparently a guest prior to me left the iron sitting on the ironing board while it was on and it melted the cover and left the melted cover on the iron, making the iron useless. Front desk person did replace the iron for me. In the room... the room was acceptably clean and the bed was moderately comfortable. Linens? The room had a couple bath towels and a couple hand towels, as well as a bath mat. Nowhere in the room was there a facecloth, or wash cloth (whatever you call it) a smaller towel type cloth many folks use for washing face or for showering. So when I want to wash my face before going to bed I use a hand towel like it is a face cloth. Most hotel rooms have some way to make a cup of coffee in the room. This hotel did not. No hot water pot, no small drip coffee maker, nothing. Breakfast in the restaurant was acceptable. The selection was good however perhaps they could find a way to keep the eggs warmer. In conclusion, I had a safe stay at this hotel however they did not gain a fan and I will not be booking this hotel again. I also will not recommend this hotel to you.…
Since the reception desk our experience was positive. There is one point I would like to mention about the restaurant which I had never seen in any hotel I had stayed before. While I was having breakfast I noticed there was a lady collecting samples of all the products which could be seved by the guests. Just for curiosity I asked her about it and she explained it was for sanitary control. Congratulations for this procedure.
