This is the second review I am posting on this property. Since my review is not favorable the Pousada is pretending that I did not stay there so I will post employees names to refresh their memory. Unfortunately I did stay at this property for a few nights with a friend, booked with Felipe. First red flag was the over 100 emails and whats app messages back in forth with Adonai Wake about different tours we would like to book stating different price quotes etc. Then our flight got messed up and we would not be arriving as planned so I emailed (Rafael responded ) and let them know that we would be arriving a day later and could they set up airport transportation for us. Adonai Wake did and you can imagine our surprise when we arrived and no one was to be found. Thank goodness the driver called the number on the door and eventually a woman came to open to door but she could not use the computer so after waiting for a long time she finally just showed us to a room when a man came apologizing stating he didn't think we would have gotten their so quickly. He said we were in the wrong room so we were going to switch but then said never mind just stay in this room. Our tours had yet to be confirmed bc of the delay in our arrival so I asked him what time should we plan to wake up so we were told in a few hours and he wanted to talk outside about why i was upset with the complete lack of professionalism but since it was around 4am I was not in the mood to discuss issues especially since he told me the owner was away on vacation and he could not make any decisions himself. In the next few hours we spoke to Adonai Wake in person who booked us a waterfall tour and my friend specifically asked him if anyone would speak English to which he replied yes but surprise when we got to the waterfalls no one spoke English and when I informed Adonai Wake of this he said Thats Brazil .I also found it very rude that he asked my friend what really happened with our flight implying that we were lying which is ridiculous because it took us 4 flights and a 3 hr ride from the airport for only 1 full day. The real problem was when we booked our airport transportation back to the airport. We booked it for 4:30 am and while we were getting ready someone was knocking and yelling at our window at 4am. I went to the lobby and no staff members were there and the door was locked but guess what it was our driver a half hour early. First we should have been told that the van could arrive early and how to get out of the building but instead I had to go through all the drawers and finally found a key to open the door and ran down the street to catch the van. I have never had so many problems in one place in my over 70 countries travels. I warn everyone to think twice about staying here and you can also read past reviews as they respond quite rudely to other travelers reviews as well.…
My friend and I stayed at Pousada Sao Jorge for five nights while visiting Bonito as tourists. What we liked: the pousada was good value, staff were friendly, a basic breakfast was included, WIFI was reliable (even though we were warned Bonito generally has poor WIFI), the pousada offers complimentary passes to the local gym, and the location of the pousada is central and excellent. The pousada acts as a tour agency so we were able to easily book activities (we highly recommend tours to the Gruta do Lago Azul and Rio da Prata). What didn’t like and what could be improved: Our room was basic and small, which wouldn’t normally be a problem but our room had a very noticeable problem with mould and ventilation. Even though we visited Bonito during a dry month the room had a damp feel and there were visible signs of mould on the walls of the room and particularly on the ceiling of the bathroom and shower curtain (see photos). This was a issue because I don’t normally have a problem with allergies but every time I walked into the room I experienced symptoms of hayfever (sneezing, itchy palate and eyes, etc). I needed to take anti-histamines for the duration of the stay. The pousada would benefit by refreshing the room with a thorough clean and paint. We used the communal kitchen twice which was a great way to have a casual meal. However, the kitchen is very basic (limited utensils, limited crockery (no bowls), mismatch of cutlery, cigarette lighter to light the gas stove, etc). There was also very limited cleaning products including a disgusting sponge which makes it difficult for guests to keep the area clean (see photo). This kitchen was well below the standard I’ve experienced at similar accommodation but could be easily improved with some new utensils, crockery, cutlery, and regularly changing of sponges and tea towels. Overall, 3 stars. I probably wouldn’t recommend it based on the poor sleep quality and the many options available in Bonito.…
I usually don't give 5 points to a hotel as any can find improvements but these guys deserve it big time! They helped us to plan our whole tours in bonito, speak good English, bring a fun and nice vibe to the hotel, and... Once my other half twisted her ankle they helped us with everything: canceling the tours for no fee, taking us to the bus station fo free and all in a super good mood. Point to improve: the aircon makes a really big noise! Price is really good for Brazil and for a breakfast included and the ladies preparing breakfast were very friendly. Do you STILL doubt about going there?!
We stayed at the Eco-Camping that is part of the pousada Sao Jorge and we couldn't have chosen a better place! The beds were comfortable the bathrooms are spacious and clean. The place itself is an oasis with a huge couch to hang out and watch movies in the garden that is full of acerola trees and well maintained but the highlight is the pousadas staff. Felipe, the owner, is and incredibly friendly guy and even had time to have a beer with us. The guys at the reception, Bruno and Adonai were incredibly helpful and always had a hint about where to get the best dinner, how to go about the trips, get from a to b and booked all the day trips and transports for us. Bruno really is one of a kind. He is always on top of things and very organised. That's what I call customer care!! Without these two our stay wouldn't have been the same. Breakfast was great as well by the way!!…
The hostel is located in the main street of Bonito, everything is easily accessible. There is a huge backyard to relax. The breakfast is excellent, coffee, juices, water, different bread, cakes and fruits, yoghurt. It is a clean atmosphere. Only minus is that the cleaning lady took 50 reais from my purse in the last 10 min of my stay. But, well, for this lockers are there and I recommend their usage till the last second!
The guys are really-really nice and helpful. I really liked them! Need a bit of patience tough, things do not run that smooth still. It is generally clean and it is really pretty, especially in the garden:) The wifi is not trustable. Our lockers were both broken. The bunk bed does not feel safe, and if the person under you moves a bit, the upper part shakes. If you are not a good sleeper, wouldn't recommend. Double check the price. We had different rates on hostelworld than what they charged us. Still, had a ver nice stay, but you have to be open minded:D and accept that it is a budget accomodation.
It's probably the best hostel to stay at in Bonito. The place is nice and clean, and the staff is friendly. I'll strongly recommend this place to all my friends because it's close to everything in town. Moreover, they also offer yoga classes and discount in the local gym
Really good place to stay! Clean rooms, nice garden and great staff. Tours and transfer are organized by the pousada. The breakfast is great with fruits, bread, cheese, jam, juice, coffee. The rooms are cleaned daily.
The place is very clean, the staff polite and the breakfast is delicious. Very nice garden and common kitchen. Great tourist agency service and good location in the city. Air conditioning in the room and clean blankets.
My stay in Bonito was amazing thanks to this hostel. The staff is very helpful and friendly, they helped me out with everything: excursions, facilities, etc (except for Nicolas and his lazy a*s! ahahahahah JUST JOKING). There is a great breakfast with freshly made juices. Everything is clean and well organised. You can go there and organise your excursion day by day instead of joining a more expensive tour. Even if you should not expect night life in Bonito, the atmosphere at Pousada Sao Jeorge helps to bring people from different nations together, and you don't feel like missing out any party experience.
