This was a last-minute trip to the Lancaster PA area to enjoy the fall weather, and we found this very charming B&B in our online search. The Inn at Twin Linden’s hostess/owner, Laurie, is amazing, she is so welcoming……and wow can she cook! Beautiful, delicious, three-course breakfasts to look forward to each morning. Our room was spotless and well-appointed (the Sarah Jenkins room) with a comfy king size bed. We enjoyed playing with her two Shetland sheepdogs, Ricky and Scooter, in the garden behind the house. Looking forward to our next stay, thank you Laurie!
Beautiful old inn and gardens in back. The room was appropriately decorated and comfortable. We had the window open and there was a bit of noise from the traffic on Main St. in the morning, but quiet the rest of the night. She served us a delicious 3-course breakfast. Lauri was very welcoming and helpful. As a bonus, I really enjoyed playing with her two Shelties in the back yard!
Thank you Laurie for your wonderful hospitality, kindness and hard work . Nobody puts in as much effort as you do with your breakfasts served. We will return again and refer you to many many others we know. Sincerely, Brian Cunningham and Kristine Barnes.
It was such a lovely and comfortable stay at this beautiful Inn. As soon as Laurie greets you it is a relaxing feeling. The patio and garden area are gorgeous and inviting. We stayed for 3 days and the 3 course breakfast Laurie prepared each day was delicious. Ricky and Scooter (the pups) kept us company everytime we went to the garden. It was like the knew us as family. We hope to get back to the area someday and we will definitely be staying here again. In the 3 days we were there, not only was Laurie a fabulous host, but we made a new friend that we will stay in contact with in the future.
We had such a delightful weekend escape at the Inn! Laurie is such a warm and lovely host, her home is absolutely gorgeous and so comfortable, I never wanted to leave!!! We booked the garden gate suite and we were not dissapointed! Between the private deck and the jacuzzi tub--the room itself was so cozy. Breakfast was even better than my imagination, a multi-course seasonal treat! WE CANNOT WAIT to come back over and over, a true gem!
Hostess was so kind to us, we accidentally missed our checkout and she was very sweet about it, we thank you for the hospitality and amazing service:) We would definitely go again, the place was clean and gorgeous:)
Booked a last minute room at this B&B. Admittedly, I'm a spur of the moment person and it hasn't hurt me yet! This place included. It's about 40 minute from Lancaster proper, but there are so many things between Lancaster and Churchtown. Antique shops, a petting zoo (that included miniature horses, little goats, chickens, etc), a town called Bird in Hand, numerous side roads in which you are guaranteed to see the Amish Buggies. The B &B itself is very well maintained and the owner is very nice. The only mistake I made was not signing up for the breakfast part of the "Bed and Breakfast" on the first morning. Did not make that mistake the 2nd morning. We were served a rasberry sorbet, zuchinni Fritters, scrambled eggs, bacon, roasted potatoes. All were delicious. The dining room is set up nicely. Not a big B &B person, because I don't like eating right next to strangers, but the dining area is set up like a classy restaurant. The garden is also relaxing. There is a common room that, again, I normally wouldn't sit in, but it looked inviting. I can see it being quite comfortable all decorated during the holiday season. If you stay over on a Saturday night, you may be treated to the Amish version of Sunday morning rush hour. Clop, clop down the street as church goers are on their way to Services. It gives you a small glimpse into what country life may have been like 150 years ago.…
The room was quite impressive. . .it's layout and decorating. Our schedule was hectic. Laurie was very helpful in seeing to our needs. Next time hope to stay a little longer to fully take in the sites.
One takes a vacation to the PA Dutch Country for two reasons: (1) deals and steals at the outlets and (2) rest and relaxation listening to the clop-clop of the horse and buggies trotting outside the front door. For foodies, one also has two options: (1) quantity: eating to excess at smorgasbords and family dining restaurants the size of airplane hangars and (2) quality: local gems and Dutch Country cuisine in non-gargantuan portions. Staying at the Inn at Twin Linden was ideal. We shopped to excess at the outlets, the Lancaster Central Market, Wilbur’s Chocolates in Lititz, and the antique shops in Adamstown: a trip in itself. By the way, once you try Wilbur’s Chocolates, you will see Hershey for what it is: a mass produced snack that is NOT a confection. Quality, not quantity. We did NOT want to eat to excess. Breakfast at the Inn at Twin Linden under the baton of Laurie was a three-course five-star experience. After shopping to excess, the Inn gave us the R&R we craved. Location was perfect: away from everything yet near to everything. For those with mobility issues, there are no first floor rooms and stairs take you to your room. Unless you use a wheelchair, you will be rewarded by exquisite rooms with expansive bathrooms: all private en suite for every guest room. And if you can handle a two floor ascent, book the Palladian Room. The views of the countryside are simply sublime. The separate jacuzzi for two will give your feet and back the relief they need after a day of shopping to excess. If you want the true PA Dutch Country experience and NOT gain ten pounds to do so, the Inn at Twin Linden is your only choice. We had such a good time that we extended our stay. SO the right decision!!…
Such a charming place! Laurie is a delightful host and had everything ready for our stay, even with a last minute reservation. The home is beautiful - very clean, well preserved and beautifully decorated. All the comforts and elegant touches. And the three-course gourmet breakfast is amazing. A lovely place to land for an overnight stay in Amish country.
