The hotel is in dire need of renovations. We stayed there overnight for the Green Bay Packers game and were forced to suffer due to all hotels being booked quick. It is quite far from Green Bay itself. Needs lots of renovations to bring up to standard.
I booked this in advance as we were attending a Monday Night Green Bay Packer football game at Lambeau Field. It was a uniquely decorated older home with interesting owners and a great breakfast. I am not sure whether the hosts will be continuing the B&B and discussed possibly renting rooms out on a longer term basis rather than the daily cleaning and cooking for B&B customers
1 star rating. Comfortable bed, close to downtown, nice owners. Apparently, the owners aren’t familiar with what B & B guests are usually looking for. There was No TV in the room as advertised. The entire house totally smelled of meat even in the upstairs room. They need a kitchen fan. The lock on the door doesn’t work so I had to move my valuables into my car when we went out. The electric fireplace on the table didn’t work. Just the cardboard tube on the toilet paper holder. A 2/3 used roll was sitting on the floor. The towels were hard and rough as if they had not been put in a dryer after washing. The ‘living area’ seemed to be for the owners as they ate dinner there and watched the TV making it uncomfortable for a guest to read or converse (breaking in on their dinner). The wifi wasn't what comes up for the Inn. Asked after frustration to get proper password. Finally, no decaf coffee available. Hmmm.…
We stayed there on a Saturday night. I'd only stayed at B & Bs about five times and it was the first true experience for my lady friend. We enjoyed it. Our room was large and well furnished with private bathroom (I think all rooms have a private bath). It was quiet at night. Breakfast was a pleasant experience, visiting with the hosts (Gordie and Carole) and four other guests. Carole accommodated our gf diet, which we had not mentioned until checkin. If you want something with more personality than a hotel, this is a good bet.
A real find in Appleton. Easy walk to downtown and restaurants, and especially a lively host and hostess that clearly reflect a sunny and inviting B&B. I particularly liked the colorful room and the real home cooked breakfasts.
