The Pousada has everything you can wish for. I stayed in one of the bungalows which had it's own private veranda with a hammock and a "flying chair" (?). Breakfast, WIFI and location were great. Within a short walk you're at the Quadrado (beautiful!) and as an alone travelling woman Luciano, one of the owners, even offered to pick me up in the center to bring me back to Samambaia. Luciano was outstanding! Helpful and friendly and even booked me my next accommodation. Thanks Luciano, muito muito obrigada mesmo! I love it here :). Would recommend it to family and friends and everybody else.

We had some doubts, but overall we were very pleased we stayed here. The bungalows are fabulous and very spacious, hammocks on private porch outside. We looked at several other pousadas while in Trancoso and felt that the others we had considered (all a bit more expensive) were not nearly so good. The owners here frequently went well out of their way to help us and we greatly appreciated their hospitality. Many pousadas in Trancoso are, of course, top of the range five-star establishments: this is not one of those super-luxury deals but it is amazingly pleasant and great value at the price. Strongly recommended.

Location of the hostel very good, near the Square. Spacious room with beds and good pillows. Bathroom needs maintenance. The shower dries day and night and the peeled floor looks like dirt. Air conditioning from the couple's room is good. Breakfast does not have many options, but everything you have is delicious. The cafe has a choice of tapiocas, omelettes and eggs, which are good too. We feel a lack of cheese and more juice flavors in the coffee. The pool was nice and bright. Since the guesthouse is surrounded by green, you have to be with repellent all the time. The pool towels cannot be used on walks and on the beach.
For the first time in Bahia we did not have the welcome of always on our arrival. We were received by Claudia, around 13:10. Our check-in was at 14:00 and we were fully aware of this, but the form of treatment was pretty bad, nothing friendly. At no time did we question whether we entered before or something like that. The only thing we expected was a welcome welcome or a simple made good trip? Once we went from São Paulo to there. But the only sentence said was that they had until 2:00 to release the room for us. We have not questioned any of that.
The prineiro day at breakfast was also very degrading. We sat at a table of 5 seats and the attendant came to ask us to change table, because we were in only 4 people. After the embarrassment, we were told to go back to the 5-seat table. Anyway, something totally new to us. We really liked to travel and we already passed by Itacaré, Morro de São Paulo, Ilhéus, Salvador, Barra Grande and this was the first bad experience we had in the Bahia, with the exception of Natália, who was very polite and friendly and the girl who stayed at the reception at night.
The last observation is that I think all the girls in the cafe should wear a headband, including the leader, because they were all always stirring and arranging the food.

Really special place to stay, with only four beautiful detached bungalows providing a really peaceful, calm and personal base to enjoy all Trancoso has to offer. We were a couple, but small families or groups would be very happy here too. Gaston and Luciano were excellent and friendly hosts, speaking English, Spanish or Portuguese. Breakfast was fantastic and perfect for starting the day. The bungalows had their own ensuite, kitchen, veranda with two hammocks. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and they were very lovely people. We cannot recommend this place enough.

Luciano and Gaston welcome you superbly! Excellent breakfast, excellent rooms, small but nice pool. Value for money! Near the "quadrado" . And beaches! Strongly recommend for couples ! Lovely atmosphere . Time of our lives... Don't miss it!

Simple, small pousada with lovely friendly, chilled atmosphere. Only 4 bungalows so make sure you book well in advance at peak Christmas/New Year times. Great location for being close to all the action too!

This was our last stop in Brazil and proved to be an amazing place to stay. The location is perfect for the quadrado and local restaurants. We stayed in a chalet which was more than adequate with shower, fridge, kitchen area and excellent wi-fi. The grounds are beautiful and we'll maintained. The best part however was the people. The receptionist was the best I've ever met and all the other staff couldn't do enough to help. The breakfast was excellent.

Lovely pousada in a quiet green neighborhood, not far from the quadrado restaurant/shop area. Rooms are clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast and an afternoon coffee always waiting for us after a day on the beach. Thank you guys for a wonderful stay, felt like home and planning to come back soon :-))

The pousada samambaia is a good place to stay in Trancoso. It is a simple place but very clean and the owners are really nice and takes good care of the pousada. I liked the breakfast, they made good tapiocas. Probably will go back. The location is excellent, 5 min walking to Quadrado.
