Salvador is a gateway to the other hidden treasures of Bahia, including Morro de São Paulo, Boipeba and Maraú, and so when I came to Salvador, I was essentially passing through. I am glad that I stayed in Pelourinho - it's filled with charming cobblestoned streets, charming, crumbling churches and historic grandeur. And Casa do Amarelindo was the ideal place... More

This hotel being situated in Plourinho is a great place to stay to visit the historical centre. The staff could not have been more helpful or kind. My room, sea facing was delightful, with everything one could want. It was far better than I was expecting! I would certainly recommend this small hotel without hesitation, but don't expect marble halls... More

Went for dinner in the garden restaurant. The food was great and authentic, with no odd additions. The 4th floor sunset bar was a great find offering perfectly mixed cocktails and a stunning view. The staff were very polite, well trained and professional. The hotel, even for a visitor, felt well appointed and was a break from the bustle of... More

What a beautiful boutique property!  When we arrived after our flight from Rio we were greeted warmly by the owner (we didn't realize it at the time).  We were so luck to have our room upgraded and we enjoyed a beautifully appointed modern room with every convenince including a small balcony overlooking the water views.  The bathrooms are beautiful with... Everything about this ten-room hotel is excellent. The French owners, who are usually in residence, supervise everything to the nth degree. Rooms are excellent, incorporating Brazilian woods, tiles, and decor. Large bathrooms with superb showers. Casa has a very pleasant restaurant (excellent large breakfast every day) with really good food. Great views of the bay from the rooftop terrace and... More

We chose the Casa do Amarelindo because we wanted to stay in Pelourinho, and we were not disappointed with our choice. This charming little boutique hotel has a great location, close to all the main sights of the historical neighbourhood. Right at its doorstep are several stunning churches, lots of street bands playing live music, and who could forget, the... More

We had a brilliant reception, where the owner and his partner were very informative, and very informed. Throughout our 3 night stay, all the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and courteous, and the hotel is located very close to the large main square, with a small swimming pool, with lovely vistas. The whole experience was most agreeable, and my wife... More

We only stayed here one night but we should have stayed longer. Having stayed 3 other nights in a more expensive hotel in Salvadpr I wasn't expecting this to be so good. From the welcome when we arrived, the service, the room, bathroom, breakfast - all superb. We were so pleased as we left our luggage here for a few... More

We spent four nights in this charming hotel in the heart of the old colonial part of Salvador. Our room was very comfortable (large by Brazilian standards) with a nice terrace overlooking the bay. Although not a buffet breakfast the portions of fruit, eggs bread and juices for breakfast were sumptuous. The front desk staff spoke good English and were... More

Excellent location, only a fee steps from all the sights and events of Pelourinho. Comfortable quiet rooms, a small swimming pool and generous breakfast. Friendly staff. A perfect location to spend four five days. There are churches, museums, the Amado museum and many music and dance events (so many, staff did not know all the venues in the leaflet in... More
