Detailed Reviews
Hotel Bosna is located near the centre of Banja Luka, and is the city's main hotel.
Originally built in the late 1800s, it was completely destroyed by the 1969 earthquake, and rebuilt during the 1970s. However, it has recently undergone almost total refurbishment inside.
The rooms ("single", which has a double bed, or "double" which has two single beds) are very comfortable, with satellite TV (Bosnian, Croatian, Serb, German, Italian TV & CNN) ensuite bathrooms and minibar. Cost is approx €50 per night (100 Bosnian Convertible Marks) for a "single" room.
The restaurant in the hotel is, like the rest of Banja Luka, very very cheap and very good quality. The receptionists speak English, German, Serb and Russian. The waiters and other staff all have a small amount of each language, depending on their particular job.
I'd highly recommend this hotel if you're staying in Banja Luka - the slightly higher room cost if you're on a budget will be offset by the 90c (for a pint) beer in every bar in town!

The Hotel has great location in the very downtown of Banja Luka, with the advantage of being withing walking distance to main attractions in Banja Luka. However, its location can also be a downside especially in summer as the rooms facing the main street can get very noisy.
It is very old hotel, which you can see and feel everywhere. Should you be looking for time machine experience it is ok. Some of the rooms have been renovated - I guess they are called A category rooms. I never stayed at the other ones and would not risk. Those renovated ones are decent and clean, with very basic facilities. Bathroom has fancy furniture, but every bath tube or shower leaks and I already had two floods.
The Internet connections works perfectly and I have never faced a problem with it.
The staff is very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast is rather basic.
The hotel has parking, which is also one of the advantages.
I usually use it for business visits to Banja Luka and especially enjoy summer meetings as it has huge cafe at the garden in front of the hotel.

We recently spent a night with familly in this only centrally located hotel in town. While approaching town, there is no sign for hotel, but it is located in the "main avenue", opposite to big church. Parking is guarded and just in front. Hotel is a huge building that has seen better times , but seems that only rooms in one floor out of four are ready to live in. We booked "A lux" category double room (costed ca. 110 EUR w/ breakfast), and I wouldn`t go below this category (B and C must be extremelly basic). Our room was spacious enough, had completely new furniture, plasma TV screen and amusing shower cabin w/ massage stream, radio and flash of blue lights, that made our 4 y.o. kid extremelly happy. Unfortunately they do not separate smokers/nonsmokers rooms, so everything, including pillows smelled of cigarettes. Breakfast was boring, but worth of 3 star hotel, we missed fruit. Staff remained in a "socialist" period (they definitelly overnumber the guests!), hanging joblessly around and in breakfast room speaking loud, laughing, reading newspaper...like they would be guests....
For eating out, we found a restaurant "Kod Muje" (ask receptionist), just over the main street and turn left on corso, with quiet terrace in shadow, and excellent bosnian food - they accept EUR as well.

Read the title :) It says everything. The hotel proudly stands in the city centre, has newly refurbished rooms, great food, attentive and friendly service, the most beautiful terrace and on top of that, everything is within walking distance. Highly recommend.

I have no idea how this place has 4 stars. The rooms are not very clean and the bathrooms are terrible, everything is old and smells bad, you simple don't have that fresh feeling when you are in this hotel. Also the light in the room's is non existing and the rooms are really dark. Only good thing is location.

If you want to be close to the center and need to park your car, this is the perfect choice. However, do not expect a real 4-stars hotel. Our room was anonymous and quite small (it looked like a single room offered as a double: one bedtable, one bathrobe, one pair of slippers, a micro-bathroom). The bathroom wasn’t definitely in good conditions: running toilet and broken shower hook. The staff was helpful, when needed, but looked mostly lethargic. Breakfast ok, with some choice, but cheap stuff. Overall, good to spend one night, but not worth the money they charge you.

I really have no complaints about this hotel--I enjoyed my three nights there. I'm not sure if there are some rooms that have been renovated and others haven't--but my room did not feel old. The beds were pretty comfortable and the air conditioner worked pretty well. Breakfast was good and the staff was relatively friendly. If I'm in banja Luka again, I would probably consider staying at this hotel again.

I had to overnight in this hotel, it was recommended by the local host who was able to obtain a 30% discount for us. It is expensive for this part of the world. Even though my room was spacious it was a tad drab and tired, could do with a lift.
More to the point both my room and that of my colleague were located on the outside of the hotel. My room hang out over the main drag - need I say more? And, my friend's room had a 'brilliant' neon sign shining into the room all night. Result: no much needed sleep for either of us.
On the other hand the staff are helpful and friendly, the breakfast is what one would expect for the price.
I guess the attraction for this hotel is that there is a casino located within the hotel complex. So if you are a high roller this is the place for you. Not for those who are in need of a good night's sleep.

From the unfriendly reception staff to the extremely poor and almost uneatable breakfast buffet to the spartanic rooms, this is a hotel you really want to avoid. Wireless Internet is only available from the third floor onwards and it does not work well! The TV is the size of an iPad and the channels are mainly regional and not even CNN is featured on the channel list. The beds are fitted with a mattress that is so thin you think there is no mattress...I could go on but I guess you get my drift - when in Banja Luka, stay elsewhere - and yes, they do not accept AMEX so have some cash handy! The only good feature of the hotel is the Restaurant President which is located in the same building but does not belong to the hotel - good service, excellent food and decent prices!

No point in going into detail but read the previous reviews. There is an underlying theme:
Staff are unfriendly, shower is problematic, breakfast is sketchy, coffee is awful and the wifi is pathetic.
Such a shame because it is a great location and town. All the staff in other establishments I visited in the town were friendly and helpful.
The management of this hotel don't read the reviews or ignore them. Either way, I would suggest they don't deserve your business.
