lovely place to stay while visiting samaipata! just a half mile walk from the city of samaipata. initially i booked my reservation at el pueblito, however when a friend recommended finca la vispera i quickly changed my reservation with no regrets! cute and comfortable cabin, beautiful private land, delicious cafe, hike to beautiful scenery of al trono aka throne at top of hill land. super sweet and helpful staff. wish i had booked more days here and hope to be back! the only thing that would have made my stay better would have been a fan in the cabin. overall i enjoyed my stay here so much!!

I had the worst experience even before going there! The person that I was trying to make the reservation with is the most uneducated administrator I have ever dealt with. She didn’t have the correct information, has absolutely no idea of how much the price was in dollars, was not helpful at all showing me photos of the different rooms, when in 5 different occasions I asked to talk to the owner she was not able to communicate me with her. When I said I would find a different hotel she said that was totally fine with her! They really don’t care if one stays in their hotel or not! Such a shame. It looks like a very beautiful place but it seems it’s being run by animals.

Hello Mariana, So sorry to hear about that perception you got. We never got that kind of concern, and it is not usual at all for us. The crew and staff here are 100% Spanish speakers, maybe you asked in English all the questions? That might happened. Also we got a new member starting and training in July, usually I am in charge to handle comunications, specially with foreign speakers. Once again I am sorry to hear about the communication issue, we will train the team about directing those calls more carefully. Anyway the person who answered is not working with us any longer. Thank you for taking the time and issuing this valuable contribution.

A friend of us recommended us a place called "La Víspera". We had no idea what it was... a hotel? a coffee shop? a restaurant? but we just moved forward and went there. Since the very first moment we arrived we fell in love. The views are from another planet. One of the best we've seen in the region. And this is the moment where Marcelo, one of the owners, made us love this place even more. When we were having a tea (made from their own farm) he started talking to us with a very friendly face. We didn't know he was the owner until one hour later. He's a true gentleman. Regarding the place, we met a lot of people from all over the world. We even met a NatGeo photographer from Switzerland (we are photographers too) who was very friendly and also loved the place. It's a perfect location for campers and motorhomes. We met french and germans with their amazing vans. They loved the place so much that they came back. Many families from Santa Cruz come here for the weekend. Their huge gardens and home-made food attract them constantly. Also the proximity to the town and the views. Regarding their food, it's absolutely remarkable. Every single dish is prepared with huge details. You can find edible flowers in their cakes and salads. Pastas are incredible, because every ingredient is taken from their own garden! They grow vegetables, and if you order a salad, you can harvest it yourself! We really, really like the place. Our idea was to come for just a tea, but we stayed many days. Our favorite cabin is called "La Lumbre", it's big and comfortable. It has incredible views, and a very organic interior design. If you are looking for a lower budget but also beautiful place, I recommend you "La Cobija". It's perfect for travelers, and you can share the kitchen and services with the camping area, which is by far the best in the city. Hope you enjoyed our review. All pictures are real and taken by my wife and me. We wish you a pleasant stay here if you have the chance to come. Happy trips everyone.

The perfect retreat for a relaxing stay in Samaipata. We camped here for 6 nights, rather more than we initially intended! The camping pitches were great, they have a cap so it doesn't get over crowded which is rare in my experience. There is a brilliant shelter with all the cooking facilities you need, hot showers, toilets and electricity. There is also a fire pit too which was a nice touch. Onsite (away from the camping) there is a lovely cafe that serves some awesome food, a lot of which comes from their garden and a plethora of home made herbal teas and wifi for those in need of this! We would recommend the pizza on a night which is 100% one of the best (if not the best) pizzas we have had in S.America. The owners couldn't have done more to make our stay more relaxing and enjoyable. Very chatty, welcoming and certainly made us feel like friends when we left. The venue is set on the hill side just out of the town with beautiful views of the surrounding hills. Ensure you go to the stone chair on the hill and maybe take a vino or two to! All in all a very enjoyable stay and very easy to lose yourself here for as long as you may wish.

We had a lovely lunch at La Vispera. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed strolling around whilst waiting for our food. The concept is slow food, but when you are aware of this beforehand, it's no problem. There are dogs to cuddle with and little paths to discover. Our party had the tomato soup, Mediterranean wrap, Mexican wrap and a tuna wrap. Everyone was very pleased with their food! The coffee was tasty and we had a chocolate, ginger and orange cake for dessert. Delicious! We will definitely be back for food again and we would also like to stay the night.
