Best way to spend new year's eve. My girlfriend and I booked the 3 night 4 day tour on December 31st, 2015 with San Miguel de Bala. Felci, our guide was really knowledgable and most importantly he respected nature. We got to swim in rivers and do amazing day and night hikes in the forest. Marlene (Felci's wife) was in...

We did the 5d4n tour with San Miguel del Bala. It is true that as mentioned in a recent review floods have destroyed the kitchen and meeting room of the lodge in San Miguel. However it has been entirely rebuilt close to the bungalows. I can imagine that the destroyed room had a nice view on the river. However, it...

It was absolutely amazing! We stayed 4 days / 3 nights and was absolutely worth it. We saw from monkeys to macaws, jaguar`s and wild pig´s footprints and a 3 meter cayman. The nature is staggering. The food was delicious and everyone was so helpful and friendly. In one of our treks we even used a raft that we found...

This jungle experience was everything we could have hoped for; beginning with our knowledgable guide Wilman, our wonderful cook Lydia and the captain of our boat who navigated the turbulent waters of Rio Beni and Rio Ruichi. The lodge was comfortable and although water was a scarce commodity, we were able to shower in the first lodge. The guided jungle...

1-beautiful accomodation. Ok, no hot water at all, but you are in the amazon, if you want a jacuzzi just go to Forte dei Marmi. 2-our guide, Felsyn, was a funny and expert guy. He didn't speak a word in english, but we hadn't requested an english speaking guide 'cause we're italians and understanding the spanish is simple. 3-amazing walks...

I am a cautious, newbie adventurer and my husband is an experienced traveler/explorer - we BOTH got exactly what we wanted with San Miguel del Bala Ecolodge. We did a 3-night/4-day tour, starting with a Tacana community tour and then into the Madidi preserve for a never to be forgotten jungle exploration. Our guide spoke fluent English and was extraordinarily...

Short version: - community owned company (42 out of 46 families of the community San Miguel) - graet locations (whole infrastructure, cleanness etc) - outstanding food (fresh varied and more than enough) - great crew that respect the nature (guide Simon was excellent) - high service level - you got a high end product whilst supporting a community, for me...

We stayed with San Miguel for a few days in december 2013 and in total we had some excellent days in the Bolivian Amazon. Good guide, good food, good accommodation and very important good communication with the office in Rurre before arrival. We spotted quite a few animals even if it were rainy season and most important felt the humid...
