We wanted a hotel for one night within walking distance of Ahnapee Brewing Company and other establishments in Algoma. This was a nice place in a historic building. We stayed in the Safari Room because it had a king-sized bed. The room was clean and comfortable, and had all the amenities: coffee maker, small fridge, toiletries, etc. The bathroom was small, but nice. The bed was comfortable, and we did not notice any noise from other rooms. We did not spend any time in the hotel restaurant or other areas, as we arrived late in the day. We would stay here again.

We have stayed there five times over the last 10 years and it gets better each time we stay. Really enjoyed watching the football game in the bar and eating tapas. The hotel reminds us of a European style family hotel. Good food, good price and a really good time.

My sister and I spent the night here, and found our room very clean and neat. We stayed in the room called lighthouse inn. It was nicely decorated and the beds were comfortable. If I'm ever up there again, I would definitely stay at the Stebbins.

We had a wonderful dinner. Most of our party ate the fish fry that they constantly refilled. I had the scallops and really enjoyed my meal. Drinks were good as well as the service. we did arrive a little later in the evening but they seated and served us right away.

If you want to party like it's 1999, then the Steb is your place. The room was a little dated, actually a lot dated but it was fine. The mattress was actually really comfortable. You see we rented the condo which ran the length of the hotel. I mean it was a lot of sq footage. It was just a little dated. On the flip side you could fit a bunch of people in there, saving you money in the process. It scores 4 stars due to the price but it isn't a 4 start hotel. Realistically it is a 2 to 3 star place.
