We were a group of 3 and stayed in a Japanese style room on the first floor. We had a lovely time in the beautiful onsen and the dinner was delicious, however, there was a group of people in a room above ours that were extremely noisy late into the night. We're not talking about creeping around and it being...

Stay at this hotel thanks to Tripadvisor. Reading so many good reviews and being number one made me think no more and booked the premises. When we arrived, it was snowing real hard. Not a blizzard yet but pretty thick. The staff pick the guest at the nearest bus station. We did ask the people at Tourist center (which can...

Our stay at Kusatsu Hotel was worth every penny. When we arrived at the Kusatsu Bus Terminal, we asked the tourist information office to help us call the hotel and request for the shuttle bus. It was only a 5 mins wait until one came and off we went to the hotel. The hotel has a very charming facade, and...

The service and hospitality from all the staff at the ryokan was like what I've seen from the tv. There was a complimentary pick-up from the bus terminal alhough it'll just take you about 5 minutes to walk. The front facade of the hotel was exactly like the TripAdvisor photos you and the hotel was warm and cosy even though...

Kusatsu Hotel gave us the most memorable stay. It was the last week of December (2015) and snow hadn't fallen for a few days so there was no trace of it on the night we arrived. Called the hotel from the bus station and in less than ten minutes, they picked us up. No problem communicating since we were expected....

Well I don't mean ancient Japanese, but... The hotel looks more like Japanese Inn of 1940's or 50's, both outside and inside. I don't remember if all rooms are Japanese, but the room I stayed in had tatami floor and futon (not futon-bed in US) for sleeping. Room was good size and was comfortable, and service was very friendly. Most...

This hotel blew my expectations out of the water. Being the first hotel we stayed at during our visit to Japan, Kusatsu Hotel not only was comfortable, had amazing food (we had dinner included) but also impeccable service. We unfortunately can't speak Japanese and the staff there weren't too confident with English either. But they tried very hard to understand...

This is my favorite hotel in Kusatsu, for its proximity to the outdoor Onsen, bright rooms, free parking, and reasonable food. It has an area where you can help yourself for a hot drink. It is also quite reasonable price.

You can immediately feel the warm hospitality once you arrive at this hotel. We love the Japanese room here. It is spacious with fine architectural details. The staff will set up the room for bedtime/daytime when you are out. The onsen water are really good here though it could be a bit too hot at times. It would be great...
