Kusatsu Skyland Hotel is located 10 minutes walk uphill from the busy area and therefore is nice and quite. Open air hot spring is open throughout the night and was so good for heeling. In 10 minutes walking distance you can find Tengu Mountain Skiing area. In summer you can enjoy hiking and in winter you can enjoy skiing or Snowshoeing. During my stay for 2 days I am so impressed with the hospitality of the staffs who are so attentive and willing to help me at all times.

It was such a shame that we only got to stay one night. The ryokan's guest were all japanese but they made our stay just as accommodating. When we arrived at the bus terminal, the email told us to call them to pick us up and they came in 5 minutes (tip: we asked the staff at the hostel before to write down how to say come pick us up from bus stop). The staff showed us all we needed to know and also gave us very clear directions to visit the tourist attractions. The rooms were traditional Japanese tatami rooms with private toilet. And they provided the correct size of yukatas for us to roam around in around the Ryokan and also on the streets. Especially important when going to the onsen (which was amazing) and meals (very extravagant dinner and breakfast which made us very full - as expected from the rave reviews by the locals) which were included in the whole Ryokan experience.

I stay here on January, it was too long, however it's my fault if I did not submit my review to the beautiful place!! It was great, I come to Japan twice and this is my first time to stay! I was really impressed with the staff, they gave me a better service. Romantic room, with my beloved here. It was pleasure to have experience to stay!!
