Took this trip in October, the weather was a perfectly cool and sunny. After arriving from Tokyo via Shinkansen and bus, we were able to get a cab from the station to drop us off at the ryokan, since it isn't really reasonable to walk, the streets are narrow and don't really have sidewalks. Dragging your luggage through would be... More

The inn is tucked away down a little residential street, watch for the sign on the right hand side as you are coming down the hill from town. The hosts are warm, welcoming and hospitable. Our room was clean, comfortable and had a nice view over the town towards the ski runs. The onsen is well above average for this... More

The hotel is tucked away in the back streets and is very quiet. It is only a 10 minute walk from the bus station but when you arrive with luggage take a taxi. It's only ¥730, a set price and makes it easier to find the hotel. We were on the second floor which in our terms is the first... More

The osen is quite near to the bus interchange and the host is nice to send us to the interchange. As we came at a off peak period, we have plenty of time to try the osen bath. The outdoor osen is great.

Stayed one night with full broad. It's quite hard to locate,,better to have a car cos you Needa walk uphill thur some narrow ruin path,,better arrive before dark as its in between some residential complex. Kinda scary when I first arrived there as it was a foggy day. Food is average, we dined in a room with other guests. Dinner... More

We had an amazing time in our one-night stay here! The staff were very nice and professional. The room was clean. The dinner and breakfast were delicious. The onsen was very relaxing and enjoyable! We will definitely stay here again when we come back! My only complaint was that the wifi was slow. No big deal, since I was there... More

A quaint little ryokan that is easily walkable (around 10 minutes) from the Yubatake in the centre of town. We arrived by bus and found it a little hard to find in the beginning (we got lost originally since the signs around can be misleading) but once the owner explained the short cut it was much easier to navigate around... We had a hard time when trying to find the hotel, it was a long walk from the train station using the main road. However after knowing the short cut, it is in fact quite near. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The highlight is the ability to use the outdoor public bath as a private bath in the evening. Great for couples or families. It is very quiet and a little further away from the main downtown area, but it is a short ten minute walk to the center of town.

Conveniently located within a short walk to the centre of Kusatsu Onsen. Nice small Japanese style hotel with reasonable size rooms. Staff are friendly and try their best to communicate in English. Onsen baths are not large but sufficient for hotel guests. There is choice of private as well as public make and female baths. Given the price of our... More
