If you are anywhere near Alderson you MUST stay here. Immaculate condition.spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Doris our host was incredible. Full of history on the area Breakfast was delicious and very comfortable. In short, absolutely perfect place!!! One slight downside to thus tv addict was no Tv in bedroom but otherwise perfect!!!
We stayed here to attend one our former classmates wedding with several of our HS classmates from 1976 for a couple of nights and had a wonderful time . The place was very clean and well kept all our rooms were ready for us when we arrived . What can you say about Doris she is just a special person has anything you ask for always around if you need her. The breakfast is the best thing you will ever eat . So much to choose from all hot and ready to eat just when she says it will be ready . The prices are very reasonable. Highly recommend this place if you are in the area also some nice stores to shop at as well .
We needed just a one night accommodation for a short trip to the area. I found the Old Victorian Inn on line, but please confirm your reservation directly with Doris by telephone as well. In short, this B&B is all you could possibly want in an accommodation. Wonderful historic location directly across from a restored train station, antique decor just like you might imagine (if you have an eye for wonderful furnishings and period decorations), spotlessly clean and impossibly quaint. One is immediately transported to a different, more gentle age when you climb the steps to the front porch. The magic does not stop her however. Doris turns out to be the perfect host. Available when you have a need, just there with her lemonade for gentle, informed and intelligent conversation. She is as much of the ambience of the place as anything else there, and she is wonderful. The breakfast part is expertly and deliciously handled, and will include what you might like. Eggs scrambled, or any way you like, bacon and sausage, delicious french toast, a cinnamon swirl cake, as well as coffee and juice, of course. Ample, delicious and hits the spot. The only downside would be that there are just a few rooms, and it would be wise to get your reservation in as early as possible. Especially for the time around Alderson’s 4th of July festivities, and the Christmas season.…
My wife and I spent a wonderful night at the Old Victorian Inn. Beautiful B & B with spacious rooms and exquisite decor. The bed was very comfortable and came with a private bathroom and free Wifi. The rooms were bright and airy, comfortable and inviting . Judy greated us upon arrival. She recommended several of the local sights. Our breakfast was spectacular. It included eggs, ham, pancakes and fresh fruit plus coffee and juice. Doris joined us at breakfast and we enjoyed sharing time with both owners. Thank you.
We could not have asked for a nicer place to stay. The inn is beautifully restored and so comfortable and clean. Breakfasts were delicious and Doris was delightful and shared lots of information about the town. We loved the trains.
