The accommodations are roomy and well appointed. The room was clean, and everything was in working order. We opted for the river side views which are very nice. But there was a train that woke us up. Not sure how often it runs. The parking lot it very large, well lit, and seems safe. There is a gas station right on premises with advantageous pricing. The upscale restaurant seemed very expensive, so we opted for the Carver's Cafe, which had good food, at reasonable prices. the prime rib special was well worth it.
We had a lovely couple of nights at Anacortes, at the Swinomish Casino & Lodge. The first night we had the Chinese in the casino for a quick meal it was fine. The Carvery is nice for a quick meal plenty of selections and a great breakfast!
This location is perfect for exploring the Skagit County area. You're close to either Anacortes (10 minutes or less), Burlington/Mt. Vernon (10 minutes or less), Tulip Fields (15 minutes), or Deception Pass area (20 minutes). The friendliness and customer service is excellent. I was always greeted with a smile (by all staff - not just front counter) and "hello." The employees seemed to actually enjoy their jobs. That's a big plus. The rooms are outstanding! The shower, in particular, is very good. I enjoyed the eco-friendly amenities. The breakfast the next morning was "so-so." I had an egg scramble of sorts and it was like a thousand others. The server, however, was very good. So, overall not a bad breakfast experience, but no "wow" factor either. Parking is…
Four & a half stars. One cut above a Best Western with comparable prices. The staff was helpful and accommodating on the phone and in person. The only down side was the coupon for the complimentary breakfast. I received different directions from different staff members but was finally resolved. The breakfast was sit down style, good but not great. You did have to walk through the smoke filled casino to get to the breakfast area, but the restaurant was smoke free.
We made the overnight trip to Anacortes to enjoy a local band from Seattle and to watch our granddaughter in a horse riding event the next day. We chose this hotel which was the venue for the band so we could enjoy ourselves and not worry about driving that night. The room was very clean and comfortable. Really nice shower. The walls were a little thin and conversation from adjacent rooms could be heard but not too bothersome. The casino was friendly and the drinks not expensive at all.
