I recently stay at the Westin with my family for a wedding. While traveling these days presents many unique challenges the hotel and staff were up to them. Marc E ,the front office manager, was awesome and helpful with our many requests from room reservation special requests to dinner suggestions. The Westin is located an easy walk to many restaurants that also deliver to the hotel. While I didn't get to the gym most of my family did and loved the equipment including a Peloton. The rooms are spacious and the beds are super comfortable, Overall the hotel and staff are taking all necessary precaution's making a stay here pleasant and reassuring.
This property is pretty good. I was disappointed that breakfast wasn’t included with the price of the rooms being a bit steep. I stayed on a high floor with nice views of Glebe Road. One thing that was rather annoying was the sound of the couple next door engaging in activities that adults do and I had to turn the volume up on the TV to drown it out. Walls are thin! Beware!
Hotel is in an excellent location close to restaurants and metro. We had booked and prepaid for a king room but the room was not available so spent one night in a small room then moved to the room we paid for, which was a hassle. There is no housekeeping during pandemic. There was spillage in the elevators that was not cleaned for 4 days. The room was average but had mold around tub. Staff limited but friendly.
We stayed on a high level in the Westin and the view of the city was beautiful. It was a really nice stay with the family. Botanical gardens is really nice. You can’t find a restaurant with bad food in DC. Founding Fathers restaurant was amazing ! Get ready for Lots of walking!
I was here in Arlington for the inurnment of my mother in Arlington Cemetery. There was a lot going on both with me personally and with family. I needed a place that was close to Arlington and with quick access to the highways and byways of our Nations Capital. So the pluses first. Location, Location, Location. This hotel is in the Ballston area of Arlington. A metro stop, a bizillion restaurants within a mile radius, and next the Route 66 going into the District or out to the Beltway and on to Dulles. The area is well lit with lots of people out and about even during this COVID-19 mess. So a nice vibe overall. The hotel itself is nice. I had a king sized bed room on the 9th floor. The price was right and the room was comfortable. I probably spent more time in the room than I should have, but it was what I needed at the time. The hotel did get a bit of street noise, but it is at the intersection of Wilson Blvd, Fairfax St, and Glebe Road. So there is a lot a street traffic, and sometimes that carries into the early morning hours. Nothing unbearable, but if you want quiet, I would suggest asking for a room not farting Wilson Blvd or Glebe Road. The hotel gym is small, but nice (for a hotel). A good selection of machines if you don’t want to go outside to exercise. The negatives, which were few and far between I am going to chalk up to the COVID issue. No restaurant in the hotel (it was closed), there was no Valet parking (even though the sign said there was), and the parking charge was about $39 per night (ouch). Now if that parking was Valet, I could say “OK” but it wasn’t. Since I am Silver on my Marriott Rewards, they cut the parking in half, but that was still a little pricey. Anyway, all in all, I would stay here again. The amenities of the Ballston area were well worth the price of parking.…
