Just like being home, nice and comfy, quiet and peaceful. I stayed in a one bedroom apartment. No complaints except all but one of the folks at the front desk gave me incorrect information or simply had no clue. I want to be clear though the gentleman at the desk on July 10th knew his stuff and was completely professional.

Service: This place was recommended to me by my employer and I really enjoyed my 8 week stay there. I had wonderful service in every aspect, but the evening concierge was especially pleasant. He always had a good attitude and seemed happy at his job. Carlyle and Michael were both pleasant to work with in the office. They were able to accommodate any request I had including a time when a guest of mine got locked out on the balcony in my unit. Michael was there in minutes to help her out. Location: Many restaurants, bars, shops, Capital bikeshare docks, and the Mt Vernon Trail are all within walking distance. Crystal City is a wonderful, safe area and this property specifically is great for an extended stay in the DC area. If you need to access the airport readily, it was nice to be able to walk the 1 mile there from here, otherwise a cab is very inexpensive. The Metroway bus stops very close by so you can hop on there if you don't want to make the 15 min walk to the Metro. The bus also travels down to the Potomac Yard shopping center where you can go visit the Regal movie theater, Target, Shoppers, and several other stores. Amenities: There is an indoor pool, but the hours were limited as it is always staffed when open. I never actually used it. I did visit the fitness center once and it was very clean and nice with a variety of cardio, free, and weight equipment. They do offer complimentary classes a few times a week, but I never actually attended. The common areas of the property were furnished very tastefully and are maintained meticulously. Every day when I would leave for work, staff was busy dusting and cleaning the lobby area including the elevators. The weekly housekeeping did a wonderful job every week I was there. The show stopper was the rooftop patio; high end gas grills and many seating areas were available to gaze out at the various landmarks in DC. Apartment: The apartment itself had a good layout, but too much furniture for my taste. The dining room table was meant for 6 people and just seemed too large for a small, 1 bedroom apartment. I wish I could have rearranged the room a bit, but the rules were very specific that moving the furniture around was not allowed. The furnishings were in a good shape, but there were a few small stains on the carpet when I checked in. I never mentioned them to the office mainly because I didn’t want to move to another unit or deal with having the carpet cleaned while I occupied the unit. The bathroom was large and had plenty of storage space, more than I never needed. It was convenient to have the washer and dryer in the bathroom as well. Since I was going to be there such a long time, I had a lot of questions about what kind of appliances and kitchen items were in the unit. I’m happy to report everything I needed was there.

This is not a hotel per se i.e. no daily room service, but full service weekly (more frequently if you want). There are spare towels if you need, plus a full laundry in the apartment. Free wifi with no hassles. Although a good walk to the metro (about 10-12mins), there are lots of eating places close by and excellent gym, pool and communal living areas on site. We enjoyed our stay and found the staff very helpful and courteous.

We found this by accident. There is a 24-hour concierge desk that will help out but they are not employees of Crystal Quarters. There are, I believe, 3 different "associations" in the building. Crystal Quarters is one. There is no maid service during your stay but we needed extra towels and, after a few extra phone calls, they brought some up for us. The apartment was clean, furnished and stocked with a coffeepot, can opener, microwave, toaster, plates, silverware, cups, coffee filters (and sugar), tea bags and diswashing tablets. We were in a 1 bedroom apartment which was tight with 4 people. The couch does not pull out and they provided us with a cot so the kids alternated between the couch and the cot each night. The rooftop terrace is pretty cool and the kids loved the pool. They have a parking garage and there's a shopping plaza just down the road (take Potomac Ave and come in to the plaza the back way across from the movie theater) with a Shopper's grocery store, Don Pablo's mexican restaurant and IHOP among others. The Crystal City metro is just a short walk from the hotel in the other direction. One could even walk there through the Crystal City Shops, which is underground.

The night I got in, I could connect to the wireless router, but no internet despite putting in the correct password and my laptop indicating it was connected to the router. Brought my hotspot device, so no biggie. Got up the next morning, most of the lights were out in the bathroom. Waited nearly 30 minutes for hot water to appear but no hot water appeared. Had to take a cold shower and then got to work. Complained about no hot water to the management. They indicated that since within a few hours after I called, they resolved the issue, that there was essentially no harm done and that they would also throw in a $25 Starbucks gift card. Problem is, I don't drink Starbucks and don't think that a $25 gift card is reasonable compensation for having a cold shower. When I mentioned the lights, management was basicallly indicating that I should try to make due with just one working light in the bathroom. ????? Bypass this 'non-sense' and stay in a traditional hotel even if its a lower grade hotel room. Not worth the lack of sensitivity exhibited by the people working here. Highly request this organization looks into obtaining new management.
