Came here on business and honestly the hotel is amazing !!!!! Impeccable room which was light, spacious and spotlessly clean, the staff are just wonderful and can’t do enough to make your stay here pleasurable!! I will definitely be returning here when next in town.
I was looking forward to staying here because of its (inexplicably )high rating in Travel & Leisure. Breakfast is terrible and the rooms are small with terrible bedding and not particularly clean or refreshed. The HVAC is antiquated and inadequate. There is hardly any desk staff. The people who are there are pleasant but this is not a good value for cramped and spartan accommodations - they will try to give you a room in basement that is a cold dungeon but the upstairs is not much better. Admittedly the location is great and the architecture pleasing and distinguished - 18th century Georgian.
I liked the location and hotel, but the staff are inflexible and rude. As a long-standing Marriott member, I would have expected some flexibility and kindness. I will never stay at this hotel again. The staff need more training on customer service.
Second stay at the Morrison House, and still quite good. Had several issues while there, which can happen at any hotel, but staff went out of their way to resolve satisfactorily. Very clean, extremely comfortable bed, solid wifi and excellent location. Only a couple of things which I would strongly recommend they change. For a hotel where the room is $300/night, one does not expect plastic disposable cups in the room, only one chair to sit in or a "Continental" (translation: cheap) breakfast. You're trying for a boutique experience, but that's more like a Motel 8! Anyway, minor things -- a very good hotel, and I'll be back when next in the area.
We unfortunately found this to be a very disappointing stay. We have stayed in a number of Autograph collection hotels around the country and in the past have been pleasantly surprised, but not this time. The room was not in good condition. The carpet at the entrance of the room was torn. There were other spots where it was worn and fraying. There was damage to walls and paint throughout the room. Bathroom tile grout was stained and missing. The room was clean, but had not been maintained. The staff was unwelcoming and provided zero guest service upon our arrival. It was rare to get the occasional hello as we left or returned to the building, but very little communication was extended our way beyond that. There was no explanation of the hotel amenities, opportunities around town or recommendations from staff. We tried to connect with the hotel manager about our issues, but my partner was met with hostility and given the run around. She even got hung up on in her efforts and received no follow through from the staff. Other than the location, which was excellent, this hotel was a total bust and not worth the price we paid. It was unfortunate as we booked this room almost a year in advance. Unfortunately, this will make us rethink our stay at another hotel like this in the future.…
The manager Sam is the absolute best. Will bend over backwards for you. Perfect location and a home away from home. Very welcoming! Down town a lot of food in the area Sam is the manager of both locations and dedicates ALL of his time towards his guests!
This was my first time visiting the Morrison House and I was blown away by the hospitality and charm of the hotel. I was warmly welcomed by the manager, Santea, upon arrival. Santea treated my sister and I like we were family and we were instantly relaxed and enjoying ourselves. The hotel is unique and has a cute book theme. We were given a book mark to take to the bar for a complimentary cocktail tasting and told we were allowed to keep the books in the room. The bar, “The Study” had great live music and a eclectic menu. The Bartender, Manny, made amazing drinks and was fun to talk to. The vibe in the hotel bar was fun and friendly. The room was comfortable and quiet, we had a great night of sleep and enjoyed the nice coffee station in the morning. Everything in the hotel was well run and the service was excellent.…
First off I would like say the staff in this hotel is unmatched. From the manger Sam down to the house keeping team are phenomenal. The ladies that work the desk especially Monique bring a warming homey feeling that you can't get anywhere else. The rooms give off a bed and breakfast vibe which is nice when you are traveling alot I really cannot say any bad about the Morrison house but if I had to say one bad thing is that it is a little hard to find at first but really I cannot express how excellent this hotel and their staff really are.
This hotel is the best hotel i have ever stayed at. The Sam duo are by far the most helpful hotel staff I have ever encountered. The front desk workers will do what ever they need to so that you have an amazing stay! Will recommend my family and friends when ever they say in the DC area!
This hotel has been the most warm and welcoming hotel i’ve ever seen. I have stayed in over 300 hotels in 19 different countries and have yet to find a better stay. Sam and Samuel, the managers have become like family. The front desk staff are always immediately ready and willing to help move bags and park vehicles. The rooms are beautifully themed and decorated. The bar is extremely popular, yet still feels quaint. Their restaurant has never disappointed.
