Great all around. Clean, comfortable room. Excellent staff, from the front desk to the restaurant, and the cleaning staff. A great experience and I will definitely be staying at the Hilton Alexandria Old Town again!
Stayed twice in June 2021; first for business and then again when my wife and I visited the area. This hotel delivers with attentive and friendly service in a prime location at the entrance to Old Town Alexandria, directly across from the King Street Metro Station. The King corner rooms are spacious with nice views. King bed was very comfortable and the room in good repair. The hotel is also in good repair throughout. The full-service lobby Starbucks (6a-1p) offers convenience for a quick coffee or breakfast. The workout room was more than adequate. Parking garage is directly adjacent/underneath hotel and has ample spaces dedicated for Hilton guests. I am a Diamond Honors member and stay at Hilton properties throughout the U.S. and Europe, and this hotel has become one of my favorites. I highly recommend for business or leisure travel.…
I throughly review hotels before I stay. I’m so pleased I chose this. Rooms are spacious and beautiful. Clean. Quiet. Very grateful to have interacted with Amber who worked the front desk not only got us a great few rooms but was compassionate given we are in town for my fathers funeral. I am definitely a hotel snob and we’ve been very happy with our choice in this one.
Sadly, there seem to be more negatives for this hotel than positive. The positives are the location (close to metro) and quiet rooms. Negatives include: poor/ unreliable housekeeping service, “complimentary” coffee in the lobby was broken the whole time we Were there, keys easily demagnetized making it difficult to use elevators. Worst was the fact that in early morning hours - approximately 4:30 am ( we had an early flight) - all exterior doors were locked and we were told that the room keys could not be used to get in from the outside. Front desk told Me they would see me through camera and open door. When I returned with breakfast food, around 4:45, I was forced to wait outside, in the dark with homeless milling around the driveway where I was waiting. I had to call the hotel and still no one answered the phone. When they did come, they said it took they awhile to make their way to the door, although no one was at counter at this time of the morning and the desk was only about 20 feet from tue Door. It was an unfortunate situation which put me, as the hotel guest, in a very uncomfortable and potentially unsafe position. There are lots of other hotels on King Street that I would choose next Time.…
Great check in staff. Very helpful. Rooms were comfortable and quiet. Beds are OK but not real firm which I prefer but can deal with. Clean, plenty of towels. Recommend not getting a room facing the metro tracks. Breakfast was VERY expensive at $25+ . Not great quality and limited options. Recommend going to Bob and Edith next door. Great diner food and a lot cheaper. Parking is also high at $35 per night for a hotel guest....should be 1/2 that if you stay at hotel at over $280+tax per night.
We have stayed on King street numerous times. We usually stay at another Hilton property but we thought we would try something different this trip. Bad decision!!! The front desk staff was wonderful (that is the only good thing I have to say). Water pressure was horrible and when I turned up the hot water the pipes made a terrible sound. I really enjoy a nice hot shower at night so this was a huge issue for me. Our room was on the 7th floor. We are diamond members and usually receive free breakfasts but not at this hotel. Breakfast was so expensive and so not worth it. The only benefit we received as diamond members at this hotel was a free bottle of water at check in and free wi-fi. The bartenders on two separate nights were not friendly at all and almost all beer on tap were out. This hotel is at a great location but there are other options close by that have better amenities.…
This was my time in Alexandria, VA. I attended a conference and this was a great place to be located. We arrived late and were greeted with smiles. House keeping was great. Location was perfect for the bus route as well. I would recommend this Hilton to anyone.
We recently spent four nights here during a family visit. The location was great, right on King Street at the west end of Old Town and right across the street from the transit center. We walked to restaurants and bars, and rode the Metro train into DC and to the airport. The hotel itself is reasonably modern and well-furnished. The room furnishings were fine, and the bedding was very comfortable. Our room on an upper floor was very quiet. Front desk and housekeeping staff were helpful. Note for disabled visitors: The only accessible entrance is around the side of the building, off the parking driveway; all the other entrances have steps.
We stayed at the Hilton in March 2022. It was our 3rd stay over the last couple years. While we have always had a pleasant experience, one of the receptionist/desk clerks -- Tsegenada Negash (I hope we have the spelling right) -- was a standout for her courtesy, helpfulness and efficiency. She provides the kind of experience that lends guests the confidence that the next visit at the hotel will be similarly positive.
This is a great location if you want to spend time in Old Town Alexandria or hop on the Metro to visit museums, parks, monuments, and restaurants in Washington, DC. The train station is a stone's throw away and the metro, buses, and free trolley at your doorstep. The hotel itself is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. Just remember room rates are not quoted with taxes and parking-ouch! It's a surprise at the end of your stay.
