Actually was the Inn next door that the owners just renovated. Was a magical weekend with old college roommate! The room was comfortable , excellent private bathroom, Beautifully furnished. The owners gave us excellent recommendations and we took their advice. The biking, the restaurants, the Theatre, ice cream and The Tavern. Also an amazing breakfast on the way home!

My wife and I stayed there in August of 2016 to go to the Barter and it was a very good experience. The owner Rick was very helpful and provided a lot of interesting facts about the house. The rooms are clean and nice. They do not serve breakfast but that was not a big deal for us. To compensate,... More

We didn't know quite what to expect when we made reservations here, but were absolutely thrilled when we arrived. We stayed in room 3 which is actually a separate cottage. Rick is such a historian his family has been here since the 1770's, do he was a wealth of info. Plus he gave great advice on restaurants. There Is no... More

This place is ideally located, especially if are going on the Creeper Trail. Its just a few steps away from the trailhead. You have no one beside, above or below. The bed sleeps great and the owners are very accommodating. The refrigerator is stocked with milk, juice, drinks and water. Oh my, how much better than staying in a hotel.... More

The owners, Rick and Susan, are top-notch and instantly made us feel right at home. We stayed in the cottage for 2 nights and would return without question. They are the kind of innkeepers that give you your privacy and space yet are available if you need them. Rick was very helpful with giving detailed information of the town regarding... More

We were in the Abingdon/Damascus area for some hiking and bike riding on the Creeper Trail, researched a few area B&B's/cottages - decided to stay at 'A Tailor's Lodging' and I am very glad we did! We had the private cottage, a one bedroom/one bath with mini-kitchen and sitting room nestled under beautiful cherry trees. We were greeted by the... More

My wife and I just spent the past weekend in Abingdon and stayed at The Black Dog Inn which is owned & operated by the same proprietors of A Tailor's Lodging. Both Inns were spectacular with "days gone past charm", super clean and walking distance to most everything you would want to do in this quaint little town, But what... More

This is a charming old home with history in every nook and cranny. It is filled with beautiful antiques and period pieces in every room, so the ambiance is everywhere you look. However, there is a very modern kitchen you can use if you choose to do so, all rooms are fully air conditioned, and all the facilities/plumbing/electrical are upgraded... More

My husband and I stayed in room 2 for four nights. Such a treat to have our room cleaned, bed made, fresh towels and chocolates on the pillow every day while we were out. A stones throw away from the Creeper Trail and Barter Theater. We did the trail twice while there. We walked to Zazzy'z for breakfast every morning... More

Several friends and I had just done 17 miles on The Virginia Creeper Trail and we had booked this Bed & Breakfast for the night. Talk about historic! There were several couples in our group and all of us chose the room we wanted to stay in for the night. Every room was unique and different. There were so many... More
