Best B&B we have EVER stayed in. Cindy was so warm and welcoming. My brother has been staying there for over a dozen years on race weekends. It is a very short drive to Bristol Motor Speedway. Cindy greeted me like I was family even though it was my first visit. We were showered with food and kindness. Our suite...

Cindy is a wonderful and accommodating hostess for her family home. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on this little farm right in the core of Abingdon. Super comfortable in the Meadow Brook suite. Convenient to an evening performance at the Barter.

Very nice stay. We stayed in the meadow room, which was very clean and comfortable, had nice views, and a private bath. Cindy is a fantastic cook, and goes above and beyond to make sure your time there is most enjoyable. Creeper trail is right next door, and downtown Abingdon is just a little further down the road. There is...

My wife and i stayed a night at the Black's Fort Inn enroute to Nashville over the first weekend in June. When we arrived Cindy treated us like we were old friends. As others have said, she really is one of the most genuine, sweet and kind people we've ever met. Her cooking is amazing. Breakfast was stuffed french toast...

My wife and I had a four night stay during the Memorial Day holiday, and everything was wonderful. The location is so peaceful on a small farm with a pond, waterfall, babbling stream, horses, chickens, ducks, geese, a milk cow, dogs and cats. We stayed in the Waterfall Suite, which includes two bedrooms, each with sofas, private bath and full...

Upon check in, Cindy (owner) greeted us with homemade cookies, coffee, crab puffs, and genuine excitement for our stay. The owner was very attentive, prepared lovely breakfasts & desserts, and was a joy to converse with. She also made excellent recommendations for local restaurants and excursions. She also was very knowledgable about the history of the community, which we enjoyed...

My wife and I met up with some friends for a two night stay. Cindy was a gracious host. Her home was lovely and her breakfast's were excellent. The home is situated on a working farm; horses, cattle, ducks, and geese roaming around but the location is less than five minutes from downtown. If your going to the Barter, dining...

The host, Cindy is so gracious and an excellent chef! The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. Breakfast is ample and delicious, Cindy makes sure you want for nothing. Right next to the Virginia Creeper Trail and downtown, you can't beat the location. Ask her to show you her horses and you won't be disappointed.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Black's Fort Inn is truly a very unique Bed & Breakfast. Our property looks as if we are out in the country but we are right in the middle of town situated on nine acres with sculpted hills, lots of trees and rolling hills. We are able to provide our guests with privacy as most of our Bed & Breakfast is designed for that purpose. Our pond is nearly an acre and has a waterfall where the water cascades down over the rocks makes the most soothing, relaxing sound, creating one of the most peaceful settings in the world. The outdoor balcony is very spacious and inviting overlooks our farm, pond and waterfall. The pond also serves as a habitat for several species of wild fowl and if you can relax long enough you can see the Canadian Geese fly in and land on the pond for their rest before leaving the next morning. Our outdoor balcony is very spacious and inviting. It overlooks our farm, pond and the lovely waterfall. We have a second porch that is equally spacious including a grape arbor that winds up at a cozy covered porch with the perfect view of our waterfall. Our guests tell us how peaceful and beautiful our property is.I love to cook for all of our guests and one of my most famous & favorite breakfast dishes requested is our "Cat Head" Biscuits & Gravy.Such wonderful memories are made here, and we make so many nice friends. All of the priceless memories we have of each of our guests make us so happy that we can share our beautiful place with our wonderful guests. ... more   less
