Black's Fort Inn is truly a very unique Bed & Breakfast. Our property looks as if we are out in the country but we are right in the middle of town situated on nine acres with sculpted hills, lots of trees and rolling hills. We are able to provide our guests with privacy as most of our Bed & Breakfast is designed for that purpose. Our pond is nearly an acre and has a waterfall where the water cascades down over the rocks makes the most soothing, relaxing sound, creating one of the most peaceful settings in the world. The outdoor balcony is very spacious and inviting overlooks our farm, pond and waterfall. The pond also serves as a habitat for several species of wild fowl and if you can relax long enough you can see the Canadian Geese fly in and land on the pond for their rest before leaving the next morning. Our outdoor balcony is very spacious and inviting. It overlooks our farm, pond and the lovely waterfall. We have a second porch that is equally spacious including a grape arbor that winds up at a cozy covered porch with the perfect view of our waterfall. Our guests tell us how peaceful and beautiful our property is.I love to cook for all of our guests and one of my most famous & favorite breakfast dishes requested is our "Cat Head" Biscuits & Gravy.Such wonderful memories are made here, and we make so many nice friends. All of the priceless memories we have of each of our guests make us so happy that we can share our beautiful place with our wonderful guests.

How can a make a reservation or talk with the owner if their mailbox is full? I really would like to visit in September, but don’t know how to contact them. What else can I do. This is very frustrating!

My husband and I stayed at Black’s Fort Inn while on a recent trip to Abingdon. The Inn is very quaint and relaxing. I loved sitting on the back porch. The owner could not have been more responsive. Cindy was awesome. We would love to stay again if back in the area.

My husband and I recently stayed at Black's Fort Inn on our way to Tennessee. Cindy is absolutely LOVELY!! She could not have been more warm, friendly or helpful. However when we arrived on a cold, rainy, dark evening the place was quite chilly. We also wondered why our room was "heated" by a tiny space heater in the bathroom when it appeared the house had central heating. After a wonderfully hot shower we crawled into a spacious and comfy bed. Cindy treated us to pumpkin waffles the next morning that were delicious! She wanted to make MORE food for us but we begged her not too! The location of Black's Fort Inn to the Virginia Creeper Trail was a big draw for us and we spent some time on the trail after breakfast before continuing on our way.

We spent Friday and Saturday nights in 3 of the 4 available rooms at this wonderful B&B. The only thing better than the accommodations was the big heart of our hostess, Cindy! We (3 couples) came to ride the Virginia Creeper Trail which is less than 300 yards from the inn (about 1 minute via bicycle). This beautiful setting and Miss Cindy's incredible hospitality made us feel like royalty. She provided snacks on arrival Friday evening (totally unexpected-- thanks) and our breakfasts on Saturday and Sunday mornings were above reproach. Cindy cooks an awesome frittata (asparagus or spinach) accompanied by sausage and bacon and we were treated to waffles with maple syrup, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream. This 13 acre farm setting just a short walk from the center of Abingdon offers pastoral views including Cindy's home grown horses and a variety of wildlife-- ducks, geese, groundhogs etc. There's a beautiful view to the pond, creek, and pastures from the windows and from the lofty back porch designed for sittin' a spell. What a great way to unwind and relax a bit. We are already planning our return trip for later in the year. .

My wife and I recently spent 2 nights at the fantastic Black's Fort Inn Bed & Breakfast. We loved everything about our stay! The location adjoins a beautiful farm, yet is close enough to all the shops and activities in the nice town of Abington. Everything about Black's Fort Inn was great: spotlessly clean accommodations, comfortable bed, and beautiful walnut furniture and trim work. However, the nicest part about our stay was the graciousness of the owner, Cindy. She is a fantastic host and cook, who made cookies for us each night, and some of the best breakfasts we have ever had anywhere! Cindy grew up in this home, and her love and pride of the home and the town are evident. Thank you, Cindy, for a wonderful stay!
