Once of the nicest Inns we have ever stayed in. The room, amenities, location, view and people make our stay one of the most wonderful experiences for our vacation. the added fun of the friendly cat, alpacas and the mountain view are wonderful.

The Hill Farm Inn is what I imagine a perfect Vermont inn to be... AND it really exists! There was nothing more relaxing that taking a dip in their saline pool with the red barn and beautiful Vermont greenery and blue sky in the background. Maria and Kate were perfect hosts- so nice and friendly- they really made you feel at home. Maria's breakfast was excellent as well. Milo the barn cat was also super friendly and would plop down near us to relax, but kept far enough away for those in our party who were allergic. Great cat. They have a pool table, darts, and board games to keep you occupied if the weather isn't great. If you are looking for a place to get married or take amazing pictures... This. Is. It. Loved it. Can't wait to return.

Dear Chall314, We're over the moon to read your review! You truly enjoyed all of the things we feel really *make* the Hill Farm experience; a completely gorgeous setting, impeccable design (your room is one of my all time faves) and lovely, accommodating staff. We're lucky to have such a good group of folks who really care about our guests, and the inn. It makes all the difference :) It was such a fun weekend and such a pleasure to host you! We look forward to next year, Kate

We stayed here in mud season, which meant some things were closed but the crowds were absent, and the weather was all over the place. But Hill Farm Inn was the perfect place to be regardless of weather. When we first arrived, the weather was hot and sunny and after we were warmly welcomed and given the tour, we sat out on the covered side deck and enjoyed the view of the mountains, barns, alpacas, and sunshine. With their superb self service system, we took care of our beverage needs and just relaxed. After that, we got some dinner recommendations and went out and about; when we got back later, it was like coming back to a wonderful private home. Some folks were in the living room just chatting and we sat in the bar for a bit. Each night was like this, as the house is so welcoming and relaxing it feels more like a home than an inn. When we wanted to relax or just take a break in between trips out and about, we could be in the living room, side deck, front porch, bar area, walking around by the barns, whatever. There was never any feeling like our room was the only place to hang out. Sometimes, we came back to drop off purchases and just took a break in an easy chair. Other places I have been have promised common areas but they don't feel as welcoming or low stress. Inn staff were around if needed, but they really let you operate as if it is your place. I can imagine if the weather had been better, we could have enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and if we had been around more, we certainly would have started the already-laid fireplace. The view out of our room window was out over the mountains and barns and we looked at the alpacas and beautiful skyline a lot. In terms of breakfast, I thought this was a really good mix. Early, they put out coffee to have on the porch or wandering around. Later they put out cereals, fruit, lovely yogurt, and granola if you want an early meal or just something cold. Finally, once the main serving time comes, they have a hot cooked entree that changes every day, ranging from eggs, to ricotta pancakes, to omelettes, served with maple sausages, bacon, homemade rough biscuits with superb jam, etc. We tried to enjoy something different every day. On a day we had to leave early, they put out the cold items early so we had a full breakfast on our time--which was very appreciated. We were completely captivated by our stay at Hill Farm Inn. Charming but laid back, welcoming but not worn. Just a truly lovely place, super clean and well cared for, and I bet their events and weddings are gorgeous. The attention to detail is perfect. I hope to get back here one day soon.

Awe, Laurie B. You left us speechless!! In particular, I loved your recap of our farmhouse breakfast. From the biscuits with jam to the house-made granola to the farm egg omelets and ricotta pancakes -- woohoo! Everything is made with love, locally sourced, and from scratch. So you've made our chef's day. Feeling really proud and satisfied that we're doing it right. Come back soon and we'll work on the weather for you ;) Kate

My wife and I drive up from NYC for a mid-week escape with high expectations. I can confidently say that our expectations were far exceeded. Kate and Amanda created the most relaxing and serene experience for us. They up regraded our room, heave excellent recommendations for culinary and outdoor experiences, and made us feel at home from the minute we drive on to the farm. It’s clean, Amanda (the chef) acommodates for every food allergy on the spot, and Milo the cat is excellent company by the fire at night. Thank you all SO much and we can’t wait to come back soon!

Dear Tim, Right on. There's nothing better than a midweek sneak-away with time for adventures and cat cuddles by the fire. But, we're the lucky ones to have you stay! Thanks for sharing such kind words about the inn. Until the next time, be well. Hope to see you again soon, Kate
