I recently attended a weekend wedding at the West Mountain Inn and was delighted with the experience from star to finish. This country mountain inn is a step back in time and beautifully decorated in the fashion of that period. Each guest room looks out on mountain views and lush gardens. Meals are prepared with farm fresh local, seasonal ingredients and served in one of the spacious dining rooms. The historic barn is the perfect setting for an elegant Vermont country weddings. The wedding weekend started with a brick fired pizza welcome dinner followed by fireside smores. Breakfast in the dining room the next morning was a wonderful assortment and the day was free for hiking one of the property trail, visiting the alpacas or exploring in nearby Wilmington the quintessential country town. The barn wedding was beautifully decorated and the dinner a buffet of wonderful freshy prepared entrees followed by desserts that included Ben & Jerry ice cream plus cupcakes, cake pops and desserts instead of the traditional wedding cake. The DJ provided a great choice of music from the 60's to current hits for guests to dance the night away. What made the wedding most memorable was that for the guests that opted to stay the weekend it was also like a family reunion with a chance to catch up with loved ones and friends that have been separated by distance and time.

The inn is most welcoming, a comfortable space to circle up some chairs with dear friends, and help yourself to tea and coffee. The lovely room I stayed in had a direct view of the alpaca barn and mountains, so it was a happy dream just waking up to that image. Thank you, West Mountain Inn for keeping up your standards, hiring kind and helpful people, and having a property that makes us want to return year after year.

Let's see ... what's NOT to love? Our room -- #1 Booker T. Washington -- was lovely; had everything we needed and didn't have the one thing we didn't need: a flatscreen t.v. The people -- all welcoming, acting as it we were old friends returning from too long an absence (although we had never been there before). The dogs -- as welcoming as their human companions. The setting -- magical. The food -- perfect (especially loved the week morning muffins which we munched on waiting for our meal). Looking forward to returning!

We wanted something understated and timeless in a beautiful setting that wasn't overrun by national and global brands. West Mountain Inn on the Battenkill in April provided the hospitable retreat we needed. Some talented folks greeted us, fed us, kept our room and poured our drinks while we had a conversation. Birds sang outside our room, No. 2, The Robert Todd Lincoln Room. We met other guests and waved at each other when we passed in the village. We fished the remarkable Battenkill and found a little adventure, too. I thank Bruce T. for telling us about West Mountain Inn. It was a great weekend and we look forward to more.

We hosted a 30th birthday party for my daughter in law at the West Mountain Inn this past weekend (1/7/2023). We wanted to make this a destination adventure and a very special celebration for my daughter-in-law. We could not have asked for a more perfect venue. The Inn is absolutely beautiful. Our guests, from several New England states and Florida, enjoyed every aspect of a quintessential Vermont Inn. From the beautiful living room with the wood stove, the numerous areas to sit and relax with our friends and family, the coffee/tea bar with warm homemade cookies, the music selection that fit in perfectly with our theme for the party later that evening, the Inn was spectacular. The party celebration was in the barn on the property. It was transformed into a magical winter wonderland with crystal chandeliers providing the perfect lighting, warmth and details. The menu we requested was exactly as ordered and delicious. Everything we asked for and more exceeded all of our expectations. Everything was taken care of for us so that we could truly enjoy our friends and family. I highly recommend the West Mountain Inn as the perfect venue for creating treasured memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you West Mountain Inn for making my daughter- in- law and our guests feel very special. Extra details - The Inn hired babysitters for us, we had a list of DJs, bakers etc that made it extremely easy to plan the party.

We have visited this inn several times, and we always enjoy coming back for a restful and peaceful getaway. The inn was tastefully decorated for the Christmas season which was an additional perk. Breakfast and dinner by the fire was wonderful also.

My wife and I had a very nice three-night stay. The Inn sits on 150 acres, and has several miles of trails, llamas and 2 very sweet golden retrievers. Our 3rd floor room was spacious enough for two, quiet and had a small porch, with access from the outside. There is no elevator, so if you have mobility problems you better ask for a room on a lower floor. The dining room was beautiful with nice dark wood paneling. The breakfast each morning was excellent, and the staff friendly. There are some nice sitting areas, with plenty of games and reading material. The wi-fi was somewhat spotty, but if was adequate enough for our purposes. I wouldn't use it for business purposes, but if you are coming here hopefully you are leaving business behind. Our king bed was comfy, if a little soft for my tastes. There is not a lot to do in Arlington, but you are close enough to Manchester if you are into shopping (other than the bookstore, I found it too pricy) or Benington if you feel like you need a real town. That is part of the appeal of the place, being out in the country it was relaxing and un-harried.

We’ve been going to the West Mountain Inn for over 30 years and no matter what the season it’s a picture perfect get away. This month we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary, and we couldn’t of imagined a better place to spend a few relaxing days. The staff is always welcoming, the grounds beautifully maintained, and the inn itself feels like home. Each morning we started our day with a big delicious breakfast, and one night enjoyed a three course dinner (make sure you order the scallops and cheesecake. Yum!!). A big shout out to innkeeper Amy for continuing to bring a top notch experience. And, thank you Mary Beth for sending my husband’s clothing he left behind! We can’t wait to come back!

West Mountain Inn was everything we could have asked for on our Anniversary trip to Vermont. Calm, relaxed atmosphere with the most beautiful property to explore. We loved the delicious breakfast every morning and coffee and hot chocolate whenever we wanted. Don’t miss out on staying at this beautiful Inn!
