We have been going to the West Mountain Inn for over 20 years so when we were feeling a bit stir crazy earlier this month we know it would be a safe place to go. We have been very conservative in going anywhere beyond basic shopping and essential trips so this was a huge decision to go somewhere overnight. However knowing how Aimee keeps the Inn immaculate during regular times, reading their Covid instructions and having a full service restaurant there for breakfast and dinner was a deciding factor in going. It was so wonderful to relax and read sitting on the Adirondack chairs facing the mountain and having delicious meals in their huge dining room which is only open to guests at this time. Masks were required in all areas and social distancing always practiced but we felt almost normal during our 2 night stay. If you want a safe, comfortable and enjoyable retreat during these difficult time I can't recommend The West Mountain Inn more highly! Thank you for another wonderful stay and we will be back again soon!

My family and I just spent a week at the West Mountain Inn after being home for months, and it was such a heavenly escape! The Inn is magnificent, with mountains to gaze upon, an exquisite meadow with alpacas, and many wonderful hiking trails right on the property. The Inn rooms are lovely, antique filled, and very comfortable. The country breakfasts and the four-course dinners were just delicious. The elegant music in the dining room, the large open wooden windows and the presence of exquisite flowers outside made for such relaxing, enjoyable repasts. We were so happy there! The innkeeper Amie is so delightful and attentive to the Inn’s every detail. All COVID precautions were followed, with hand sanitizer and masks available upon entry. We felt safe there, and so welcome. Those days of hiking, swimming, and fine dining are cherished memories we shall hold on to. We’re grateful for the beauty and serenity we found in Vermont and at this beautiful inn.

My wife and I had to quarantine at home in order to stay at the West Mountain Inn this month. Was it ever worth it! The Inn is welcoming, charming and relaxing, reflecting its terrific innkeeper, Amie. It is beautifully situated on top of West Mountain between the Taconic and Green Mountain ranges on well over 100 acres of gardens, fields, woods and trails. The nights are quiet and peaceful with the spirits of Robert Frost and Norman Rockwell in the air. Rockwell lived for many years about 3 miles down the road near the red covered bridge. The rooms are quite comfortable, each with a unique motif and character. Breakfasts and dinners are prepared by their long time chef, a culinary school graduate. Our meals were creative and delicious, with fresh ingredients and different choices each day, homemade muffins and rolls, and great deserts. During the four days of our stay, we explored some of the Inn’s bucolic trails, spent time relaxing in the Adirondack chairs enjoying the amazing scenery, as well as driving through the local countryside and towns. Amie, who has spent the majority of her life living at the Inn, understandably knows the surrounding areas extremely well and has a wealth of information about local activities and restaurants. Vermont takes the Covid pandemic seriously, as does Amie. We felt safe and cared for. We were so delighted with our stay that we hope to return in the fall.

This was our second time visiting the West Mountain Inn and will certainly not be our last! We loved exploring the trails around the property grounds and sitting on Adirondack chairs watching the Green Mountains as the sun set. In addition, the Innkeeper, Amie, is a wonderful host and clearly has put a lot of attention and care into ensuring that guests feel safe and comfortable during the current pandemic. I can't recommend the West Mountain Inn enough if you're looking for a relaxing getaway in beautiful Southwest Vermont.
