My husband and I stayed at the Lodge with another couple for the last week of the season. Three of us were employees here in our 20's and we have also stayed here a few times as adults. Given the ongoing pandemic, all staff and guests wore masks, and other steps were taken for social distancing in the dining room, a no-touch thermometer, and a maximum number of guests. We stayed in standard king rooms with a view of the mountain. Our room was clean and comfortable, and it has a humidifier, boot warmers and glove warmers in each room. Wifi worked well. We rented skis and boots on site which was convenient and the staff was experienced. Your room rate includes daily breakfast and dinner (drinks are separate) and the food was very good and they accommodated my dietary limitations. They have 2 big, clean hot tubs (with doors that open to the snow if you are so inclined) and a bar/lounge in the lodge. There is an all-day coffee-tea station, and a complimentary tea and treats hour at 3pm. The management team and staff are excellent and friendly and we felt welcomed and appreciated. The location is absolutely perfect, and we had 2.5 feet of fresh powder for spring skiing! Thanks for another great trip!

I stayed in a room with a shared bath in the original wing of the lodge. The room was tidy and comfortable. The carpet looked new, and it looked like the log walls of the room were refurbished as well, because they had a nice sheen on them. The room was full of light during the day while providing a great view of the mountain. I didn't mind using a shared bathroom, which was always impeccably clean. What I loved most about staying in the lodge was its ski in-ski out set-up. You leave your skis in a locker, and when you want to go skiing, you just put them on right there and ski down to the lifts. So convenient!

Staying at the Alta Lodge is like coming home to the warmest most-welcoming place you’ve ever lived (without the dirty dishes, laundry or having to make the bed). The staff and guests are friendly, the lobby is cozy, warm and inviting (the fire is always roaring) and the food is delicious and plentiful (afternoon tea is an added bonus). The hot tubs and sauna are clean and relaxing with a view of one of the most beautiful sites in America: High Rustler in Alta. Skiing is easy and accessed through a big comfortable ski locker room right onto a bunny slope that leads directly to the Collins chairlift which brings skiers up to the top of the mountain. It could not be any easier. Alta is for people who love to ski and the Alta Lodge is the perfect place for skiers who want down-to-earth luxury before and after skiing.

Although, given Covid issues, we were a little nervous about continuing our long-time tradition of visiting the Alta Lodge for a pre-Christmas family ski holiday, we were extremely pleased to find that Maren and the Lodge staff had thought through all the details necessary to make us feel safe and comfortable while still enjoying the wonderful Lodge atmosphere, great food and unparalleled skiing. It was easy to enjoy all meals in our room, with the outstanding dinners delivered along with small fold-up tables. We picked out our favorite breakfast (and tea time) items from behind a plexiglass shield, then enjoyed in our room. We had lunch both on mountain (ordering and eating outside using the ski resort's ordering app) and in the room. The lobby, deck room, Sitzmark bar and locker room at the Lodge were all uncrowded, HEPA filters were numerous and employees and guests were wearing their masks (and as friendly as always). And of course the famous Alta skiing right out the door was terrific, especially as we arrived right after a 20" storm! We also felt very safe in the lift lines and even riding up the canyon with Alta Shuttle in a private van with plexiglass separating us from the driver. If you are hesitant about continuing (or starting) a tradition of visiting the Alta Lodge, we would encourage you to head on out.

We have just spent a week at Alta Lodge and it was a wonderful experience. The Lodge has done an amazing job of making sure their staff and guests are made as safe as possible from covid. They have a face mask policy when out of your room or not dining. The dining area has plenty of space between tables and their breakfast buffet tables are shielded by glass with an attendant serving. They have even kept the beloved afternoon tea with it too being behind glass with an attendant serving. But most of all the outstanding food, charm and warmth of the Lodge and its staff is still present. Looking forward to our stay next year!

As a long time guest I wanted to share my observations during Covid.
Best news is that the staff has learned to expertly smile with their eyes. Plexiglass, masks, and sanitizer are plentiful along with numerous HEPA filters throughout the Lodge. None of the changes affect the fact that you are able to ski in and ski out to some of the best snow in the country.
Less furniture, no outside guests in the Sitzmark and options for meals are either dining room or rom service. Either way, the food is plentiful and delicious.
If skiing is in your future, be sure to check out the Alta Lodge where the safety of their guests is most important.

Another excellent stay at the Alta Lodge. Perfect location and access to the skiing. Clean rooms, good food, provides a low stress environment by not having to worry about where to eat, etc. Good to unplug with no TVs in the room.

Alta Lodge is the epitome of what a ski lodge should be. It is totally comfortable with great service but it remains casual and easy going. It is a pleasure to stay there because everything is just right without the slightest hint of preciousness. Its like hanging at your laid back friends house whre your friend has put everything in place for a perfect ski week

I was fortunate enough to get to stay at Alta Lodge for more than three weeks earlier this year. I enjoy stay at Alta Lodge because I can count on everything working and being dependable, the rooms and common areas are comfortable and are nicely decorated, the staff goes out of their way to be helpful and friendly, and the food is varied and delicious. And of course, it is an easy ski-in/ski-out to the Collins chair lift.

Alta Lodge is comfortable and accommodating in all the right ways! It is perfectly set up for a real skiers' get away. During our Pandemic visit, the Lodge was really flexible and safe. Staff staggered meals, allowed for room service at no charge and went out of their way to be sensitive to individual guests' needs. I'm so glad we braved it. It was so easy to get back to the lodge to warm up or eat lunch in our room or the sparsely occupied dining area and we never had to worry about crowded ski cafeterias. We love this place!
