In town for a wedding. This place exceeded expectations! We stayed in the schoolyard room. It was lovely! The attention to detail in the room was evident. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. The room was so cozy! We enjoyed breakfast on our private little patio. Breakfast was excellent! I'm gluten free and they were so nice about accommodating me! They are also very popular with the local deer! You will see them most in the evening and morning, but we also saw several just chilling in the yard during the afternoon. The entire place is just adorable. We enjoyed wandering around looking at all the lovely garden areas too!
We loved our stay at The Old Liberty Schoolhouse! It was So Peaceful and Quiet there! Especially for being close to the DFW area! The attention to detail was exceptionally high throughout the property: From the unique decorations throughout the suite and the property, to the amenities provided within the suite. Zan and Cash, the owners, went above and beyond to make you feel welcome throughout your stay, and treated you like family! They also provided us a detailed and neat history about the schoolhouse that the property used to be many years ago. With COVID-19 going on, they also went the extra mile to ensure the property has been exceptionally cleaned within stays and ensured us that the property was safe to stay at. All without being an extra burden to the guests. Oh, and Breakfast was pretty amazing too! Zan and Cash catered to our tastes and any special needs we had. As you can see from the pictures, there was a plentiful and wide variety to eat each morning. The Orange Juice with Crushed Ice, and the Strawberry/Banana/Greek Yogurt Smoothies were my favorites! We will be back to stay when visiting family in the area!…
We had a lovely stay at this place. Zan and Cash are great hosts. The place is gated, elevated, quiet, beautiful and quaint. Watch sunrise in the morning and enjoy all the deer roaming at dusk. The upstairs suite is like a little apartment with a bedroom, immaculate and cute. The staircase leading up to it is enchanting! This place just puts a smile on your face! And breakfast was delish!!
If you want a gorgeous venue with a unique history and want to be pampered this is it! They have thought of every detail to make your stay enjoyable! From the comfy bed to the beverages and snacks. There is even a washer and dryer too! Loved the soft robes and the music speaker to hook up to to enjoy music in the room as well. Our only regret is we didn’t have more time there. I so enjoyed sitting on the porch in the swinging chair and just being still! This morning they sent us off with a breakfast of smoothies, fresh juice, sausage and bacon, waffles, berries and fresh cream. Need I say more!
My husband and I recently stayed one night in the Let Freedom Ring Suite. We felt welcome from the moment we drove onto the property. The suite was clean with very personal and detailed touches as if you were staying in someone’s home. Zan was in contact with us via text prior to our arrival with helpful instructions. She even inquired if we had any food allergies for the delicious breakfast that she cooked and hand delivered to our suite in the morning. The property itself is just far enough away from the big city (Fort Worth) to have that peaceful out in the country feel. It was very quiet at night. They have two animals on the property who were both very friendly. Miss Spooky the cat and Mr. Pibb the dog. We also saw several deer from the window in our suite. The owners are very personable and knowledgeable about the history of the property. We also enjoying visiting with Zan as we were checking out. We definitely recommend staying at the Old Liberty Schoolhouse Bed and Breakfast!…
Hosts Zen and Cash went out of their way to make sure our stay at The Old Liberty Schoolhouse Bed and Breakfast was exceptional! They were in contact with us before our stay to give us details regarding our stay. A delicious breakfast was delivered to our room daily. Every detail of the furnishings was thoughtfully designed. We highly recommend The Old Liberty Schoolhouse Bed and Breakfast!
We recently returned for a visit with Zan, Cash and the four legged family members. Once again, Zan exceeded all of our expectations and I could not find a word that adequately describes the outstanding room, filled with old schoolhouse memorabilia and charm, the warm and personal attention given the guests, the beautiful grounds filled with green space and a lovely array of flowers, the marvelous views of surrounding green space and Eagle Mountain Lake, the masterful creativity producing unforgettable breakfasts, and the resulting feeling of serenity. So, I had to create a word that describes the entire experience: fantabulous! Come see for yourself
Can’t say enough good things about this. Let me quote from the old movie Holiday Inn: “Don’t ask questions, just go.” Aside from being an historic building, this place is elegant and incredibly well maintained located on a hilltop with commanding views of the surrounding area including eagle Mountain Lake. The innkeepers Zan and Cash are wonderful. We stayed because we came to Azle to celebrate a friend’s birthday. But this would be an ideal place for a country getaway for anyone in the DWF Metroplex or beyond. The Pelican Bay boat ramp is close by as well as boat and jetski rentals. There is a local theater group active since 1976 associated with the TCU drama department (The Hip Pocket Theater) producing weekly shows and there is the Azle Opry on Friday nights showcasing local country music talent. If you want to drive a little further, there is Billy Bob’s Texas and elegant dining in Fort Worth at places like the Cattleman’s Steak House.…
This is a delightful experience! The accommodations are roomy, extremely comfortable, peaceful and everything you could possibly want is provided. Zan is a fabulous cook - the breakfast is 5 star at least! And ask her to tell you the history of the schoolhouse.
We stayed at the old liberty schoolhouse at the beginning of our 3,5 week trip to Texas. We felt just at home away from home. Zan and Cash did everything to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The suite was perfect, the breakfasts were the best ever! And we got a complimentary bottle of wine. How about that! We loved it so much that, before we left, we booked two more nights to stay at the end of our trip, before we had to fly back home in the Netherlands. If you ever stay in the Dallas Fort Worth area, be sure to book your stay at the old liberty schoolhouse in Azle
