Went with wife for a getaway trip to Austin. The hotel is old and beautiful. The bar area has great drinks and atmosphere with live entertainment every night. Both restaurants are great as well. It's conveniently located within walking distance to the capital and right on sixth street. The room we stayed in was nicely decorated. The only reason I... More

From the time you enter The Driskill's magnificent lobby you know this is a uniquely pleasing property. The lobby is spacious, lots of spaces for small groups, the decor is tastefull Western. A half flight up from the lobby is one of the most inviting Western bars in Texas. Cowboy themed statuary adorne this Texas big and comfortable bar. The... More

Excellent hotel with old time charme. The bar is a great place for a drink and live music. The truffle popcorn is amazing. The breakfast space is second to none and the food matches the space. Not cheap but worth it.

Pros: Check-in was seamless, room service was prompt and the food was good, the location is great. Cons: The hotel walls are PAPER thin -- so thin, I can hear very clearly the conversations of those in the room to the right and left of me; I am in a newly remodelled room, but the bathroom is not up to... We checked in and I believe we checked in with Elle. She told us what was going on in the area and at the hotel during the weekend. The hotel overall is beautiful. Our room had a king size bed and had high ceilings, which is rare for a hotel. We enjoyed cocktails in the relaxed bar area. Later we... More

Service was great. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner and very impressed with the food. Parking is expensive but valets were courteous and helpful. The taxi stand right outside the hotel was very convenient.👍

Visit the lobby and bar in this hotel, but don't stay here. It was such a disappointment especially for the money. We stayed in one of the "vintage rooms" with a "seating area" and "250-350 square feet". I expected it to be small, but the 250 square feet must have included the bathroom too. We had a king bed that... More

We stayed a couple of nights wanting to be in downtown. The Driskill is a historic old hotel that has been refurbished and is still in the process of being refurbished. We stayed in the historic side so I have no idea what the 'other' side might be like. The room was gorgeous. Very high ceilings (16+ feet). The room... More
