The Renaissance Austin Hotel garners compliments for its pristine rooms and modern amenities, with the staff's friendly demeanor often highlighted by guests. However, some visitors have expressed concerns over noise, particularly in atrium-facing rooms, and suggested that improvements could be made in both room details and noise insulation. While the hotel's design and ambiance are well-regarded, issues with service efficiency and new additional charges, such as for parking, have led a few travelers to question the hotel's overall value.

I attended a conference at the Renaissance Austin Hotel located in the Arboretum, spending three nights. The staff members with whom I had contact were friendly, attentive, and wore masks. While there were signs "requiring" guests to wear masks in public areas, there was no enforcement of that policy. Because of Covid, rooms were not made up each day unless it was requested. I had a very nice room on the sixth floor and the air-conditioner worked well. On two evenings I dined in the hotel's bar/restaurant. The food was fine but nothing particularly special. There are restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. Guests are required to park their own vehicles in uncovered parking space; there is no valet parking. It is my sense this beautiful Marriott property is still feeling the effects of the coronavirus pandemic and has yet to fully recover to provide the services and amenities it once offered.

We want to getaway from the COVID 19 madness, so we choose something near from our place, San Antonio. The hotel was fairly open due to the shutdown and on its 3-week of operations. It has only allowed 50% capacity.

The check in is very fast, and we used the QR code to know more about the hotel and amenities. All guests followed the face coverings/masks policy. There are available masks in case the guests forgot to wear, it’s a good thing for you don’t need to go back to the room.

There are reminders/signs inside the hotel, a family or 2 guests ONLY are allowed to use the elevator at a time. Social distancing signs on the floors are visible. All guests followed it so well and very cautious. It is pleasant to see the staff working so well to maintain the place sanitized and clean. They are cheerful and happy to see us, very professional and friendly.

The room is very clean, well-maintained, and spacious. Since we are staying for 3 days, my husband requested extra coffee, they are very fast to attend to our needs. (less than 5 minutes). The bed is very comfortable and the pillows are extremely soft, we had a restful and great sleep throughout the stay.

We enjoy the atmosphere and the drinks at the Knotty Deck & Bar and the @ustinBytes. The food are sooooo delicious and you’ll crave for more. The workout area, pool including the whirlpool/Jacuzzi are put into use, we absolutely enjoyed the amenities.

The hotel is near the shopping area and dining restaurants like Zoe Kitchen, and Cheesecake Factory for another option to eat, is a walking distance. It has a nice trail to walk around the Arboretum, close to nature, very safe, peaceful and quiet.

We decided to explore more by going to Lake Travis, it’s so beautiful. There is a boat rental but you have to do it online to make the reservations. Another place is Oasis Restaurant, we love the food, take so many pictures, and enjoy the breathtaking sunset. It is a 20-30 minute drive to and from the hotel.

We had a great time and enjoy every moment. Thanks to amazing staff – Kaylene, Leishla, Merry, and Mr. Rene Lopez for a wonderful welcome and made our staycation incredibly awesome and exciting. I highly recommend this hotel and can’t wait to go back!

Stayed at the Renaissance Austin Hotel during business and was very pleased with everything. The room was very spacious and comfortable, the hotel had great amenities and the staff was so very courteous and willing to go out of their way to help with anything we needed. We even used the shuttle service and was given fantastic advice from the driver(iwest) as to a great restaurant right nearby to the hotel. He even gave us a card for a free appetizer. The restaurant was very, very classy and we had a fantastic meal there. Thanks iwest !! There was a great workout area, plenty of food options and an easy Uber ride to downtown. Very friendly and courteous people here. Thanks to all who made our stay so nice!

I stayed at the Marriott Renaissance Austin Hotel on Arboretum Blvd in December 2020. The hotel appears to be struggling to stay in business, and the experience for me was not good. There were three positives that stood out. One is the front desk staff were professional and very nice. Two is the food was very good in their restaurant. Three is the grounds behind the hotel are very nice to walk, especially if you are traveling with a dog, and they are easy to access through an elevator in back of hotel. There were multiple problems with the stay. The first was when I used my Marriott upgrade vouchers to get a suite. The hotel emailed me the day before letting me know they did not have an upgrade available. I logged in anonymously and saw multiple suites still available, so I had to call Marriott and ask them to contact the hotel and require them to honor Marriott commitments to loyal customers. The suite was fine, but the hotel clearly is in need of being updated (room needs new carpet, paint, new counter tops, etc.). The hotel is designed with a large inside open atrium similar to an Embassy Suites. This proved to be a challenge for my eighth floor room since heat rises because we could never get the room cool, and this was on days with temps ranging from 40 to 75 F (avoid this hotel in the summer!). The food in the restaurant was good, so they have a good cook on staff, but the wait staff are clearly not trained. They got our order wrong one time, and another time we gave up and went to the room after it was clear they forget to place our order after waiting for quite some time. They knew our room number, so we were rudely surprised when they knocked on our door to offer a free meal as an apology, and we had the do-not-disturb sign on the door. When I booked the hotel I saw there was a $50 pet fee, but I must have missed the fine print. When I checked out I discovered they charge this $50 pet fee per night. I asked the front desk if I stayed for a week would they charge me a $350 pet fee, and she said yes! The occupancy at this hotel was very low, and I can now see why this was the case. I assume they must be struggling to stay open, so they are resorting to unethical measures by trying to avoid upgrades, tricking people into paying multiple nights for pet fees, and hiring staff that are not trained properly. I hope this is just a reflection on the owners and management of this hotel and not a growing problem across multiple Marriott properties.

We stayed here during a group conference for about 3 nights. The common areas of the property was beautiful. My room was mediocre...bathroom wasnt cleaned properly. Housekeeping could do a better job especially during a pandemic. We were in room 618. Very noisy location. Microwaves were not available on floors 1,6 or 9. Strange! Front desk wasn't very friendly....seemed overwhelmed. The food was OK; limited due to covid. Location is convenient. Due to dirty bathroom, noise levels and unfriendly front desk I rate this property a 2 out of 5 stars.

Hello, thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback. We are very glad you enjoyed our common areas and location, and we sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced. We understand the negative impact that had on your stay and we can imagine your disappointment. We are very sorry to hear the bathroom was not properly cleaned and we will communicate this to our Housekeeping Manager to ensure this is an isolated issue that is corrected moving forward. We apologize for the noisiness of our atrium and for the service you experienced at our Front Desk. This is certainly not the service we strive for, nor is it acceptable. We will be speaking with our Front Desk Ambassadors to address this issue. If you are a Marriott Rewards member, please feel free to email us at renaissanceaustin-frontdesk@marriott.com. We can work to notate in your guest profile to ensure your room is in a quieter location on a floor with a microwave on your next visit. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you again when your travels bring you back to Austin!

First off, this hotel is a bit dated and looks much better on the website than in reality. This was my first business trip since Feb 2020 and I was excited and nervous to be back on the road again. I had high expectations for this hotel and was disappointed. The club lounge was not open due to renovations so I got breakfast vouchers good for only up to $12. On my second of four nights there, the experience went from not great to worse. The hotel is set-up where an atrium is surrounded by the guest rooms. As a Marriott Titanium member, I was placed in a room where the front door was facing the atrium, more like a punishment rather than a gift for being a loyal Marriott customer. There was a loud, rambunctious group partying in the hotel bar. I contacted the front desk at around 10:15 PM about the noise and was told that quiet hours don’t begin until 11:00 PM. I had to call again at 11:20 PM as the quiet hour did not begin at 11:00 PM. It wasn’t until close to midnight that the group finally dissipated. The same thing happened on the third night and didn’t end until after midnight this time. The staff’s lack of attention and total disrespect to other paying guests by not addressing this matter is so unprofessional to me. I don’t plan to stay here again the next time I’m in town.

My husband and I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years when visiting Austin (most recently in May 2022). We’ve typically stayed in one of the larger corner suites, which have a lot of space, are well-maintained, and have great views from the higher floors. This hotel’s location is great for spending time in northern Austin (our close friends live nearby), and it’s in walking distance to a number of restaurants and a short walking trail. Parking is plentiful and easy. We’ve typically brought our dogs (most recently our two standard poodles, and previously our lab/greyhound mix Millie who passed away a few years ago). We have many happy memories with Millie staying at this hotel - the hotel is very dog friendly for well-behaved dogs. The staff here is super nice, and the lobby and pool amenities are great too. We highly recommend this hotel!

I was forced to stay here because of a work conference. The beds were horrible, the pillows were the worst I’ve ever experienced and the noise in the atrium kept us up at night. We called the manager about the noise and he offered ear plugs. That’s equivalent to saying “I can’t do anything about it.” I’ll never stay at nor recommend this hotel. Stay away as there are countless better options in the area.

We spent 2 nights at the Renaissance Austin Hotel in early Nov. 2022. Our room was large with cozy furniture, and carpet flooring. The King mattress was very comfortable, and the room was nicely decorated in calm colors. Our room was located close to the elevators which was perfect for us, because we had members in our party who were elderly. We heard no "outside" noise whatsoever.
Breakfast at the Knotty Deck & Bar, on the lobby level of the hotel, was especially wonderful for our large group to gather. The food was delicious, and the wait staff was very friendly and accommodating . Also, the property's location works well to navigate to any section of Austin quickly.
All the staff members we encountered during out stay at Renaissance Austin were patient, friendly, and caring. Staying here was our BEST experience of the entire weekend!

Returned to the Renaissance Austin for the first time since COVID and it remains a good alternative to hotels in The Domain. The rooms are spacious and unlike some other hotels in Austin, the air conditioning is relatively quiet. I had a room overlooking the atrium and while there was some noise from the bar below, it was not disruptive. However, guests that are noise sensitive might want to get an outside facing room. There are a number of restaurants within easy walking distance for those that want to eat outside the hotel. One minor dislike is that the hotel now charges for parking - currently $20 per day - which was not the case when I stayed previously. That would not put me off from returning but it is something to consider if you are driving.
