Hotel Viata garners accolades for its impeccable service and pristine cleanliness, with travelers consistently lauding the attentive staff and spotless environment. While the spacious and tranquil rooms are generally well-received, some guests feel updates are necessary.
Despite its convenient and picturesque location, the hotel's luxury services and unforeseen fees have left a few guests questioning the value. Nonetheless, the serene atmosphere and luxurious amenities, including a praised pool and spa, contribute to the hotel's charm, making it a popular choice for those seeking elegance and relaxation.

The hotel is first rate. We stayed on the 6th floor and the views were fantastic. Check in was a breeze. The room was immaculate and so cozy, had a bottle of wine chilled waiting for us. Our room was very quiet, we never heard any “outside noises”. We ate at their restaurant called The Laurel and our waiter (Hari) was attentive, and suggested excellent choices to choose from. The pool area was very clean, and there are plenty of fresh towels around. The overall atmosphere of Hotel Viata was a 10 out of 10 We were looking for an enjoyable relaxing weekend and that is exactly what we got there. We will definitely be going back very soon. Highly recommend. We can’t wait.

My sister and I were in Austin to visit our Brother and his family for the Holidays. He and my sister-in-love arranged a two-night stay for us in separate rooms. We arrived late (10 PM) after the day of travel & family night.
Patrick, our Guest Service Host, was just incredibly attentive to two tired, Senior, yet Lively Ladies! He got us BOTH to our rooms, separately, came back to double-check the complimentary wine & went way over service best practices. He made certain the non-drinker had a lovely bottle of Pellegrino, instead of the red wine. He was attentive while loading/ unloading luggage racks, etc., keeping our luggage and bags separated properly.
The hotel was absolutely lovely. We raved to our Brother who had not stayed himself but had hosted other out-of-town guests there.
Please clone Patrick's "Hospitality Expertise," I think I will stay there each time, it's also convenient to my Brother's home in Westlake Hills.
Best Regards,
Anne Apple Dallas, TX

Enjoyed a three night stay over the holidays at this hotel, located conveniently to our hosts. The curvy, hilly road leading up to the hotel could be a problem if it is icy; fortunately, although it was very cold during our stay, there was no precipitation. Dillon at check in was informative and friendly, and always greeted us coming and going. We chose to self park at the adjacent parking garage, but the valets were very friendly and offered help with luggage, opening doors, etc. I felt bad for them in the extreme (for Texas) cold, but they were always cheerful and helpful. The room was spacious and provided everything we needed for a comfortable experience. Daily housekeeping was a pleasant surprise in this day and age of "only by request" service. The bathroom was huge, with a very large and inviting shower and plenty of room for both of us to get ready in the mornings. All of the service items in the room are permanent (i.e. coffee cups, glasses, utensils, etc.) and it would have been nice to have a "to go" cup for coffee. We went for drinks at the bar one night and JR was a great bartender. Two minor quibbles...one, overpriced drinks at the bar, but for the level of the hotel, I guess it's not surprising. Two, as some other reviewers have stated, why not just include the "resort fee" as part of the rate and call it a day? We got a good deal by booking over Thanksgiving weekend, and I know that usually rates are quite a bit higher, but it seems like it would be more transparent to just make that $30 part of the rate and explain all the benefits. Overall, the stay was great start to finish and I would definitely stay again.

I am absolutely happy with all aspects of our stay at Hotel Viata and will be back again! We have stayed at a lot of hotels over the years and tend to gravitate towards the premier brands now for expectations of cleanliness, comfort, and quality accommodations. Therefore, we were a little nervous about our booking at first since Hotel Viata was an unknown to us. But they did not disappoint.
The entire hotel was immaculately clean, which speaks volumes. The staff was amazing. The suite where we stayed was spacious, spotless, and full of charm and high-quality accommodations. The environment was peaceful, the views were spectacular, and the drive to wherever we wanted to go was easy. Lastly, the elevators always seemed to be there when you needed them, which isn't always the case at high-end hotels. Hotel Viata felt like a true vacation and I'm looking forward to going back.

Was told after attempting to check-in at 3p that I would be texted when my room was ready. It wasn’t until 5:30 when I followed up with staff at the front desk was I told “oh you’re room is ready”. Upon attempting to check in I wasn’t asked if I wanted to check my bags, or offered to use any other amenities on site while I waited for my room. To be honest for this price point and this being marketed as a “luxury” resort I wouldn’t rate the customer experience higher than a Residence Inn. Because of this ordeal on checkout we called to inquire if late checkout was an option. We were told 12p was checkout time. At 11:30a as we were loading out for check out we got locked out of our rooms and had to go down to the front desk to get our key reset.
I stay in a lot of hotels for work trips and this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a hotel I spent 200+ a night for.

very disappointed and over priced!! 8/4 - 8/6 for a getaway weekend in the sparrow suite. the room is dated w/old furniture & lamps. the dining area chairs had stains on a 4 chairs so in room dining was not an option. I informed the front desk, she apologized, didn't offer to send housekeeping to clean the chairs. the best feature in the room was the soaker tub and bed linens. the wood furniture in the room needed to be dusted!! in the lobby, the gift shop had so much dust on the table, who would want to purchase an overpriced golf cap for $47 sitting in dust!! we told the manager and they said they would take are of it
the website states the cabana are $150 however, i tried to reserve at the front desk & was informed reservations are via resort pass app costing $300 + tax=$356. we did not have a dedicated server as notated . the cabana refrigerator was left open all the h20 & soda was hot until I closed it. the pool bar was under staffed, 1 bartender, we had to wait 40 minutes for a drink Devon was our server & apoligized, we tipped him well. we wanted to experience the hill country w/views, however our view was a roof top and Apple corp office, no beautiful hills. we will not be back!! We usually go DT to Hotel ZaZa and will make sure thats where we stay going forward.

We're truly sorry to hear about your disappointment during your recent stay with us. We deeply regret that the room's furnishings and cleanliness fell short of your expectations, as well as the issues you encountered with the gift shop and cabana pricing. We apologize for any confusion regarding the cabana pricing; the $150 rate was listed as a limited-time offer and it had returned to the regular rate of $300 by the time of your visit. Your feedback is important, and we'll address these matters to ensure improvements. We understand your frustration and apologize for any negative impact this had on your stay. If there's anything more you'd like to share, please don't hesitate to reach out. Sincerely, Jose Valle Director of Operations

Decent hotel with a Mediterranean touch, but still unmistakably "American". Simple rooms with walk-in shower. Nice staff at check-in. Breakfast doesn't start until 8:00, takes a long time to prepare and prices are too high.

We got to our suite and the windows were so filthy. We could not see outside of them. I told the front desk. The next morning I told the front desk and told the housekeeping. Nothing was done. The Spa charge is $40 just to use the steam or the sauna… Even if I have two rooms booked here I have to pay the $40 to sit in the sauna… That’s ridiculous. On the positive side the hamburger in the bar is very good

On site food and beverage options were excellent. Rooms are quiet. On-site self parking is very convenient. Rates were reasonable for this weekend stay. Excellent location for those that wish to avoid staying in and have no reason to visit the frightening wasteland formerly known as downtown Austin. Hotel Viata brings you to what may be the only aesthetically pleasing part of the Austin area that remains, and that's also free of drug-addled derelicts.
