If you want to stay at a high-quality hotel in Austin but don't want a boring room (yes, even at the Four Seasons), and you enjoy a cool, breezy, quietly hip atmosphere as well as a room with a very smart interior design, the only way to go is Hotel Ella. Trust me. I know what I'm talking about.
The late night staff was like a knight in shining armor. They were the heroes for my last-minute room reservation. The check-in staff and process was as friendly late at night as during the day. An indelible experience to remember. Thank you Ella Hotel Austin.
No particular thing or person stands out for being special. The hotel is beautiful and historic. Every single staff member with whom we interacted was cheerful, friendly, and willing to LEAP to do whatever we needed. We were in walking distance of all sorts of interesting things if it hadn't been 105 by noon. That, however, was the fault of Texas, not of our hotel.
The room amenities are ok. There was no coffee and no water in our room. There was nothing exceptional on our arrival or throughout our stay. I was having my daughters baby shower there so, I asked for a late check out and they didn’t accommodate us. Nothing special. The best part was the valet parking attendants.
Super charm and staff was genuine. We loved our stay and the location was great. Ask about the pool hours, as events surpass other guests. Food and drinks were really good and the chef was true to farm -to-table.
I stayed here for work and it was so nice and relaxing. Cute hotel in the middle of town great for walking. All the staff was very kind and accommodating. Loved the parlor bar, a nice place to relax after working with out dealing with the hustle and bustle of a busy area.
I recently visited Austin to celebrate my father’s 90th Birthday. Hotel Ella added to the celebration with a unique and luxurious hotel stay, professional and attentive service and a phenomenal breakfast. Thank you Hotel Ella
This is a great place for business travelers if you want to have a pleasant and uniquely Austin experience. My department has used Ella for many years and everyone who stays there loves it. Excellent lodging choice and very charming.
very charming comfortable place. sophisticated blend of old world charm w/ new clean luxury. staff is smart and young and handled the somewhat chaotic bustle w/ intelligence and grace, and good problem solving go to.
We stayed in this hotel for one night in a second floor king bedroom in the additional building. It was a spacious room, but the facility needs serious updating. While it is a historic hotel it doesn’t need to look dated and worn. The balcony railing needed to be repainted. The carpet while appearing to be clean is dated. There as an amenity fee added to the bill, but the room contained no coffee maker or means to heat water for tea. There was no information on how to operate the TV nor any channel listing. When we called for help with the TV the person sent to our room while very pleasant didn’t have any idea of how to change the channel but he did bring a listing of the channels subscribed to. When we went to Goodall for breakfast we were not greeted; in fact the waitress came to our table with a scowl on her face, no greeting and simply placed menus on the table. When we asked what the pastry of the day was,the response was “we are out of pastries.” She gave no suggestion of a substitute. When we asked what was on the fruit plate she said “ I don’t know.” She did not offer to find out. When my husband said to her that she didn’t seem to be happy to be at work, she simply said I’m tired - I just graduated over the weekend. This was on a Tuesday and the restaurant is closed on Monday. We mentioned her unbecoming behavior to another server who apparently reported it to the management, we were given a 20% discount on our breakfast. We were not seeking any compensation but thought she should receive some correction as her behavior reflects poorly on the establishment. The net result is that we will not be staying at or recommending Hotel Ella again. We will stay at another hotel in that area.…
